First the Kuma slow-motion punch last chapter, now this.
Oda’s really taking narrative liberties to a whole new level these days. Dr. Vegapunk, the OG version, is standing right in front of St. Saturn and Kizaru and they’re just talking? That makes NO sense! None! Vegapunk should be burnt to a crisp by Kizaru or impaled by one of Saturn’s gross spider legs by now. You’re in this arc’s last-ish inning, Oda. Stop missing your logic free throws! Wait, that’s basketball. Well, you know what I mean.
Inaccurate sports metaphors aside, what’s gonna happen to the Thousand Sunny? Looks like it’s gonna drop down to the Fabriophase unless someone saves it. Then again, the Sunny falling would force the entire Straw Hat Crew to go down there after it, increasing the overall danger of the Buster Call even more. Not to mention, it’d give York The Greedy time to escape and cause more havoc.
The Monster Trio fights haven’t started. We got the required arc flashback and Luffy losing at least once, but no locked in Straw Hat battle match-ups. Is Oda waiting for the Blackbeard Pirates’ arrival? Will we get Luffy VS Blackbeard: Round One. Or, is it Round One-point five? Anyway, we could see their first time skip meeting and fight very soon!
This was a good chapter! Despite Saturn not immediately killing Dr. Vegapunk like he intended, the tension has ramped up considerably with Egghead Island getting Buster Call’ed along with Team Bonney and Team Sunny in danger. I don’t think this arc is ending anytime soon, Y’all. Expect at least another twenty-chapters. More if Saturn and Vegapunk keep talking. Sheesh! Might as well grab them some Chinese take-out, Kizaru. We’re in for a long chat.

I heard on Twitter the idea of the Iron Giant being the one to carry the Sunny in Vega Force 1’s place- since that’s gone and it’s about to get up and running again.
The chaos right now is astonishing; it feels like ANYONE could show up right now and it would sense. The Blackbeard crew has been on a bit of “Tear” lately, between what they did to Law; Garp’s Invasion and subsequent disappearance at Pirate Island; and now they’re coming to make an even BIGGER mess- and we still don’t even know what they’re after right now!
At this point, you have to wonder what could POSSIBLY happen at the end to “shake the world” beyond what’s already happening. But then you think about the “Information” that Vegapunk has through his research, and you wonder what Big News Morgans- ANOTHER faction coming this way- is going to use it for.

Why? Hmm… I haven’t really thought about Blackbeard’s why. Is he simply after the SHs Road Ponegliffs? Or, is he at the point where he needs a genius like Vegapunk for something? Or, both?
Yeah, the Ancient Robot is being setup to do something, true. But, I’m now sure if it can fly. At this point, helping the Straw Hats escapes makes the most sense.
