I thought Oda would drag the St. Saturn situation out more, but here we are. Bartholomew Kuma landed on Egghead and is ready to give Saturn the beating of a lifetime. Yeah, right! I know better. Do you really think Saturn’s getting taken out this easily? We don’t even know his devil fruit’s name. And, whatever it is, I’m sure it’s one of the most powerful we’ve seen so far. I’m still putting my money on it being a demon-demon fruit class or something like that. Basically, whatever the opposite of the human-human fruit class is. If I’m right I’m giving myself a million dollars. Aren’t I generous?
We get confirmation Saturn isn’t Bonney’s father. Good. But, the old bastard experimented on both Ginny and Bonney. Bad. My question is why? I doubt Marijoa had no shortage of slaves from back then, so why use the eighth wife of a Celestial Dragon? My guess is Ginny’s sexual assaulter/husband couldn’t deal with Ginny’s rebellious nature and gave her to Saturn as punishment. Will we ever learn the Celestial Sleazebag’s identity? Probably. Like with most info reveals, Oda’s waiting for the right time to tell us. No doubt this person is an important character connected to world building tidbits we’re not meant to see yet. Be patient, my friends. It’s coming.
Crazy theory time! Could the reason Saturn experimented on Ginny be related to Im? Is there something wrong with him? I doubt Saturn would perform any experiments unless he deemed it worth his time, so I’m guessing it’s Im related. Either that or it’s some type of submission chemical to force others to obey. Kinda like an One Piece version of DC’s Anti-Life Equation. I wasn’t kidding when I said it’s a crazy theory.
Here’s another: What Saturn said about Bonney’s Distorted Future attack being weakened by accepting reality makes me think it’s a devil fruit literally powered by dreams. The same wishes and dreams Dr. Vegapunk believes devil fruits come from? Could the Age-Age fruit be one of the very first devil fruits created? No, I’m not that drunk. Leave me alone!
Admiral Kizaru or Caribou? Which one secretly fed Luffy? Maybe it’s the Jack Daniel’s and ginger ale talking but I think it was Caribou. He fed Luffy once during the Wano Arc and I believe he did it again. Buuut, I also think Kizaru saw it go down and did nothing to stop it, giving Luffy a chance to protect Sentomaru and Bonney. What a chad! I’m totally donating to Kizzy’s Patreon.
This was a great chapter! Kuma saving Bonney then winding up what could be one of the most satisfying punches in One Piece history is exciting. Was it programming or instinct that sent our second favorite cyborg (Number one’s Franky, of course.) halfway around the world to save his daughter? I’m dying to find out. But, not as much as Kuma will by the time Egghead Arc ends. Sorry Kuma fans. Here. You can use my shot glass napkin to dry your tears. Now, where did I put those pizza rolls? *hic!*

!!!!! YOU JUST GAVE ME AN IDEA!! Remember what Doflamingo said during the initial Reverie arc? “Power Degrades Over Time.” Maybe the extraction process WAS Im related; maybe Im- despite being immortal- still ages somewhat, and is looking for either new body OR the Nika fruit- a fruit that let’s your “imagination become reality.” This is the contingency plan: Extracting his “essence” just as one would a Devil fruits, and place it in a newer, stronger body!! JUST AS CRAZY, but a though I had.
I feel like it’s Kizaru via either a Light clone(which he showed this arc) or just by nature of how fast he is. He’s in a whole different position and everything. But I’m also willing to say a lot of it was brought to him by Caribou. Kizaru is betting on Luffy to save Bonney and Sentomaru- Caribou because it’s the only way he’ll make it off the island. A joint effort.
In my mind: The first fruit was the Nika fruit, brought into this world by the people’s desire for freedom from under the Lunarians during the Void Century. And then Nika would sacrifice himself to make the original Devil Fruit tree, and spawned the Soul Soul fruit, which Lili would use to take a fragment of the people’s souls to make all the other Devil fruits. It’s a………….. long, winding theory I have, but I think it makes enough sense.

At this point we can fairly assume Im’s been around since the formation of the World Government in some shape or form. And, that the 5 Elders don’t seem to age or age very slowly. What does that mean for your theory? I got know idea but that came to mind when I read it. That and Im probably already has a devil fruit (I think he transformed along with the 5 Elders against Sabo but I could be wrong). Not sure how that factors into your theory but if BB can have multiple fruits, so could Im, maybe.
I forgot Kizaru can make clones. Hmm… Now I’m not so sure about Caribou.
That Nika fruit theory is too wild even for me, but I can’t exactly talk given my theories. The Lunarians as the old school baddies. Interesting. I really have NO idea how Oda’s going to fully explain devil fruits. That dreams and wishes theory from Vegapunk totally sucker punched me. It sounds like magic and I was expecting something more sci-fi.
Have devil fruits been One Piece’s magic system this whole time? Then where does the high tech stuff like Uranus fit in? Does the manga have a Science VS Magic theme and no one saw? Whatever the answers are, I just hope Oda can make them satisfying.

That might be why Blackbeard is on Im’s sh!tlist; he has the same ability as him, and he’s going to be a threat if left to his own devices. As for Elders, I’m guessing they were Im’s closest advisors in the past, and were made the Heads of the World Government after Im “died.” Though i don’t know how they themselves could be “Primordial Beings” like Im and no body questions it. Then again; people who ask questions tend to disappear with these guys………….
It’s a theory I’ve been working on since July of last year; I’ve been collecting a lot of information and looking at a lot of other fan theories, crafting an idea of what happened in the Void century and the origins of Devil fruits. But I’m kind of “intimidated” by it; I’m trying to write it, but it’s so extensive that I’m worried it won’t come out very well.

Interesting way to connect Blackbeard to Im. Knowing what we now know about Luffy and Vivi, we can assume Blackbeard has something about him of interest to Im other than BB just being a strong pirate. His ability to use multiple devil fruits could just be the tip of the iceberg.
As for why no one questions the 5 Elders’ longevity? I’m not sure that most of the world even knows what they look like. Or, they could go with them being “special” or “Gods”. I hope Oda gives us an official explanation one day.
Good luck trying to piece it together. With how Oda drops lore bit by bit, I’m betting there’s still several big details he’s kept hidden making it tough to guess the truth. But, if you’re having fun, do it! You can always post it in parts instead of dropping the whole thing if it’s too much work/information.

That’s actually not a bad idea; a way to keep people coming back AND get all my thoughts out without having to make one super long post. I’m still in the “Planning” phase, technically; I haven’t written it out yet. But looking at what I have in my notes, I feel like it’s going to be one of the longest, most involved posts I’ve ever done. I’m intimidated- but in a Good way!
