This fight’s just dumb.
I know you’ve seen it before. A manga/anime fight that goes on for so long it’s becomes absolutely ridiculous. Whether it be constant power-ups, cliffhangers, or last-minute saves, the longer a fight goes, the dumber it gets. All Mech VS All For One, has indeed, went on for too long.
We get it. AFO is unstoppable. And, yes, the main point of the fight is damaging AFO enough for Eri’s Rewind to finish him off. Still, AFO expunges all of his blood to counter Stain’s quirk with a quirk specifically able to do that? Come the hell on, Horikoshi! That’s just too much. Oh! But we’re not done, because AFO can apparently change his blood type.
Look, I like the explanation that the blood type quirk helped him hide in the shadows but that doesn’t take away from it being ridiculous. Again, we shouldn’t have gotten to this point or AFO’s counter to Stain should’ve been less jarring. Sure, AFO was planning ahead but that whole scene left a bad taste in my mouth. And it tastes like demon lord bodily fluid. Next chapter, I’m bringing my umbrella.
Stain is dead. No surprise there. Stain was the type of character who’s destined to go out in a blaze of glory. Well, in this case, a blaze of failure. Anyway, he died for All Might, so good for him?
Stain. Toga. Twice. Horikoshi loves killing off “crazy” characters. My guess is he doesn’t know what to do with them so off with their heads. I get it, it’s hard writing an ending for characters who absolutely cannot live within society. But, killing crazy characters seems like taking the easy way out. At least you could’ve had one survive, Horikoshi. No? Screw me, you say? Okay, then.
Who’s gonna save All Might? Bakugo. Yep, I think it’s gonna be Bakugo. He’s not done yet. Plus, Bakugo’s quirk is the only one All Mech never used. There has to be a reason for it. And since All Mech is gone, the only way we’ll see AFO get a well-deserved explosion party to the face is from Bakugo himself.
Or, AFO Gloop Warps himself and All Might to Deku and kills his rival in front of Deku. That is a horrible fate indeed, bringing Sir Nighteye’s prediction into fruition. Of course, I want The Crawler saving All Might, but we’ve already established Horikoshi doesn’t care what I think. Jerk.
This was an okay chapter. It didn’t resonate with me as much as I hoped. This battle has gone on for too long. Now I just want it to end. Just like Stain and Hercules. Poor Hercules. If only All Might had ordered two suits. One for him and one for… me. You never gave me a chance, All Might. Just because I have two DUIs. Whatever! Where’s my whiskey?

Yeah, them 2 Stain Counter quirks came out of left field. My biggest question is how he was able to force the quirk to activate while paralyzed? It couldn’t have been more than 30 seconds All For One was paralyzed; how did he manage to use a quirk at all?
Yeah, I think he OD’s killing these crazy characters. I don’t care about Twice, but Stain and Himiko- likely would have spent the rest of their days in a jail cell. Though I always felt Himiko would have lived, if any of them.
I don’t know; I feel like character death is this odd thing in media. It’s like on the one hand, it’s kind of “easy.” On the other- do some of these characters REALLY need to be around? For EVERYTHING? It feels all “cluttered” at best and makes you question why X Y Z character wasn’t at XYZ location at whatever time at worst. “Where was when this happened;” “Where has she been this whole time;” stuff like that.
This fight might have taken a bit too long to wrap up, and it still doesn’t seem to be over, does it? Ah, well; he’s got how many students left to mention?

AFO used Force Quirk Activation. What is it exactly? No idea. Just one more thing that makes him overpowered.
Horikoshi talks about how most of these villains are victims of society. Killing them off seems like it justifies their outcast thinking. That the world really doesn’t have a place for them. Not saying Toga, Twice or Stain could ever reintegrate into society, but it just seems… I don’t know… strange to me their only option is death. Hori introduces this cracks in society theme but the answer seems to be if you fall through it, you’re screwed instead of having some come back to the light side or something.
I think the only student left is Bakugo. That’s why I think Bakugo himself will show up somehow. Especially, since All Mech is gone.

When thinking of it like that, I can definitely see how death is an “easy out” in a story like this. And with the society of Japan- or possibly even the world itself but DEFINITELY at the brink in America from what we’ve seen- you COULD try to rebuild with Himiko’s, Jinn’s, Stain’s, and Tenko’s in mind.
