Get you hand off my friends!
Nice going, Captain Koby! You helped save your allies. Well, all except for Vice Admiral Garp. Similar to the Worst Generation is for pirates, Oda is moving the younger members of the Navy to the forefront. They, like Egghead Island panties, are the future.
So, what does that mean for Garp? Whether he survives or not, Garp is part of the old guard and up for elimination or retirement. For now, I think Garp is alive. Remember several chapters back when Blackbeard wanted to use Captain Koby’s status to gain official recognition as the king of Fullalead? There’s gotta be a reason for that more than just going to VIP coke parties. You know Blackbeard. Ever step he takes is to further his overall goals. Becoming a king must give him access to information or an opportunity to move him toward the One Piece.

But, here’s the thing: Is becoming a king necessary to Blackbeard’s goal or just one of many towards his endgame? Maybe York the Greedy can achieve the same thing for Blackbeard (Remember, a BB ship is sailing toward Egghead.) or she’s another important piece of the puzzle. Basically, what I’m saying here is Garp’s survival depends on where Oda wants to take Blackbeard’s path to being the top pirate antagonist. And I think a major stop on that path is God Valley. Oh, yes, my friends. Someone of notoriety will land on that island and I’m guessing Blackbeard is the most likely candidate.
Going by the last page, it looks like the story is going back to Egghead. Good job clearing out the Egghead civilians earlier in the arc, Oda. That entire island is gonna become a battlefield!
This was a good chapter! Oda continues to masterfully move his characters into their final endgame positions in the most fun and interesting ways. I wish you well, Garp. Hope you had a chance to say goodbye to your wife. Um, who is your wife? And who’s Dragon’s wife? Are they even married? Oh, so they’re good enough for a lay but you don’t wanna put a ring on it? Bastards! I hope both your baby mommas gave you haki herpes!

I forgot Blackbeard was aiming to be a legit King! Holding THE Navy Hero Hostage would CERTAINLY get them to strike a sort of deal, wouldn’t it? Especially since Garp doesn’t seem to be in Sword.
The Newspaper says that Luffy barricaded himself in Egghead. But Luffy isn’t the type to sit still like that. He didn’t barricade himself in there- His escape routes are blocked!! But, uh……. again; the boy couldn’t sit still if promised him a boat full of Meat(PAUSE). Whatever he does to get out of here is the event that the World didn’t see coming.
Blackbeard and York? Makes sense a Genius Intellect like York would have an alternate plan in case the World Government tries to f*ck her over. I mean, they share that same “desire” for power. So…… she may have reached out to him on the side.
The Worst Generation just took 2 L’s back-to-back with Kidd and Law, while the New Gen Marines just got a W-L with Fullalead. If Luffy succeeds at Egghead- it’s a Win/Lose to Lose-Lose-Win. It’s a start, anyway.
How will luffy react to this news? On the one hand: Garp terrifies him. On the other: Still his Grandpa who loves him. I don’t think Luffy hates Garp or anything; I just don’t think he’ll be quite as “Gung-ho” to go save him like he was for Ace. Because he knows FIRST HAND that Garp can take care of himself, yeah?

With so many big names on or going to Egghead, more than Luffy escaping the Navy is gonna happen. Basically, Oda’s setting up a small war on Egghead and there’s bound to be surprises and (maybe) a causality or two. At the least some big names are gonna get beatdown.
Blackbeard or members of his crew have no reason to risk going to Egghead, a Navy owned island, unless its for something or someONE that’s worth the trouble. If that’s the case, all signs point to them wanting a Vegapunk or a Vegapunk wanting them.
Luffy’s reaction? Yeah, I agree Luffy’s not gonna be too concerned with Garp’s capture. He probably has enough faith in Garp that he can get out of that situation himself. That said, Garp’s loss is just one more reason for Luffy to hate the BB Pirates.
