Float Like A Butterfly, Stab Like A Bee [My Hero Academia 393]

I’m impressed, Uravity.

Ochaco Uraraka doesn’t have all the answers but she’s still doing her best to deescalate this dire situation. Look, I’m bored of the whole Girls=Emotional trope manga creators love falling back on but this chapter felt genuine. Like Uravity truly regretted treating Toga badly and unknowingly pushing her further down the villain rabbit hole (even if she was already miles deep) and wanting to help bring the Stab Queen back from a total implosion. Great stuff.

Uravity’s Zero Gravity quirk got a boost! Nice! It’s your classic quirk awakening moment, complete with being pushing past your physical and emotional limits. Uraraka now has the ability to become one of the most powerful rescue heroes in the world! No complaints here.

“Romance and Monster Trucks, Himiko-Chan!!”
And the award for Coolest Way To Smoke A Cigarette goes to…

Quick shout-out to Horikoshi’s art. Everything was lovely, especially Toga’s expressions. Gotta say, I’m gonna miss this art when the series ends. I also miss the League of Villains interacting with each other. Glad to see them together in that flashback for what I’m guessing is the last time ever. Damn, I miss My Villain Academia.

Are we ever getting Toga’s high school flashback with that Deku looking dude? Love you, Horikoshi, but saving so much character information until the last possible moment for many of these villains is annoying.

L-Lore? In My Hero Academia? This really is the final arc.

This was a good chapter! I love Uravity not having all the answers but trying to help anyway. Toga was drawn to the League of Villains because she wanted to be around people who’d accept her. Well, Uravity’s trying to do just that. Maybe her and Toga can have a girls’ night out one day. Oh? Wait a minute. Toga’s gonna be locked up forever. Whoops! Well, they can be writing buddies. I’m sure Toga will love reading Uravity’s letters about her and Toga’s old crush, Deku, dating. Whoops again! Better find a good lawyer, Toga. Fast!

I like how Tomura was the one to drop lore like that; it showed that All For One was actually teaching him a bit about the history of the world after quirks started popping up. And I was always curious why he and Toga never choose Villain names of their own. Heck; I don’t even know what they would choose!
I’m liking the ending of THIS more than the Todoroki story. With that; I was ready for it to end when Dabi started to become a living BOMB. With this; I want to see what happened the day her life went in this direction. And see if she’s going to be arrested right here- or if she’s gonna help the Heroes stop that Parasite All For One. He’s infected someone she cared about- I imagine the whole of the League(except maybe Dabi because he’s been so single-minded in his goal) would try to get back on All For One if they could. If his Pet MONSTER turned on him, then why not the rest of the League?
Uraraka always struck as the type of kid who really liked Bubbles growing up. And yeah; she’s gonna be a pretty good rescue hero.

I never thought about Toga not having a villain name, but I love the explanation why she doesn’t.

I got some My Hero Vigilantes vibes from the lore drop. Usually, it’s that series giving us info like that. And, yes, I’m enjoying this more than Dabi and Spinner’s fights. Dabi because it when on too long and Spinner because of the way Horikoshi handed discrimination. Just please end this fight soon, Hori! Don’t let it overstay it’s welcome.

Toga helping the heroes? I don’t think they’ll trust her to do that. I feel bad for Toga but she’s still a serial killer and terrorist. BUT she’s also a school girl and in manga that fact alone could save her.

As for All For One… Either All Might or Shigaraki takes him out. There’s no one else in the story more fitting than either of them.
