Will Vice Admiral Garp die?
Are we witnessing the galaxy expanding beginning of the end of our favorite fisting Navy officer? Well, I doubt anyone other than Kuzan or Blackbeard himself is powerful enough to take him down. So, unless Kuzan’s on Fullalead (Blackbeard’s still fighting Law, I assume.), Monkey D. Garp’s not dying today.
Also, Garp’s the Leader of Sword, right? It can’t be anyone else I suppose. Sure, let’s go with that.
Gecko Moria’s alive! He’s gotta escape or there’s no point in having him alive in the first place. But, will he help Sword fight the Blackbeard Pirates? If that’s what it’ll take to escape, yes. Still, I wonder what Oda has in store for the former Warlord? Will he join Cross Guild? Or just go back to being a pirate? We’re so close to the endgame, I gotta assume Moria’s gonna join up with a bigger fish, otherwise who cares?
Blackbeard wants to be a king? Yeah, he’s up to something. He’s always up to something. My guess: If he joins the World Government, Blackbeard will gain access to God Valley’s hidden location. Then he can try to accomplish what Rocks D. Xebec failed to do.
Let’s see, if Teech is fighting Law with… And Fullalead is being protected by… Then, the Blackbeard crewmembers sailing to Egghead are probably Catarina Devon, Laffitte, and the tenth Titanic Captain? One can hypnotize others and one can transform their appearance. It’s gonna get crazy at Egghead. Well, crazier.
This was a great chapter! Any chapter featuring the Blackbeard Pirates and/or Garp The Bara Hero is an instant win in my book. I’d like to give a shoutout to the other members of Sword. I didn’t really talk about them but I thought they were cool. Always nice seeing more Navy officers who aren’t jackasses. Too bad one of the female officers is wearing the same generic short dress so many other One Piece women wear and the other is a bit of a tsundere. *YAWN!* Got anything new, Oda? …One of them is a drag queen? Now that’s sickening, mama!

I think Garp is going to die this arc. It would serve as inspiration for both Luffy and Koby, while reminding us how dangerous Blackbeard is. That said I agree only someone strong like Blackbeard could do it. I think he saves Koby and defeats some of Blackbeard’s crew first. We’ll finally get to see how strong Garp is.

The problem with Blackbeard is he’s made himself into a living anti-devil fruit user weapon. He’s a bad match-up for Garp. Buuut, Blackbeard doesn’t play fair. I can see him using underhanded methods to take Garp down. IF Blackbeard is even on Fullalead.

Ya know I can see Moriah trying to join up with Cross Guild? And Buggy- needing ALL the big names the world can spare him- I see no reason for him to hesitate in saying “Yes.” Crocodile and Mihawak, though- knowing the kind of creature Moriah IS- would probably let him in if for nothing more than that Devil fruit power. And because of what Doflamingo told him at Marineford. THAT information is certain to cause chaos, wouldn’t it?
The Devil fruits that were introduced…….. I get the feeling the Isle Isle fruit is going to be more for plot than something to use for actual combat. Then again, the idea of any character being able to knock an islands lights out isn’t somethign we’ve gotten in this series. Kind of WEIRD thinking about it like that, right? In ALL of these years- through OVAs, Movies, Anime Filler, Light Novels, and god knows what other bonus material- we have NEVER had a character just PUNCH an island out, have we?
I think Kuzan is on the way to Egghead. And- considering what you’ve said- Devon and Laffite are with him. I’m of the mindset that Kuzan is the 10th Captain, but it could be someone else. As for what they’re gonna DO on Egghead- what they’re coming for- is probably Luffy’s Poneglyphs. There’s no guarantee that they’ll get Law’s(or at least not ALL of them), so they need a back up plan…….
!!!! THAT’S NOT A BAD IDEA!! Teech trying to join the World Government to learn what happened to God Valley sounds like something he’d do. Though it’s possible he already KNOWS what Rocks wanted- and he’s going for it directly. Im’s days are numbered!!
This isn’t Garp’s place to die. Honestly, he probably managed to knock everyone out with this attack and they’re escaping with Koby. It feels like it shouldn’t be as simple as that, but you’re honestly right: NO ONE on this island can swap hands with Garp right now. If he starts fighting for real, then they’re gonna get their @$$e$ kicked! And they- like Teech- aren’t about that life. At least not without PIzarro, who PROBABLY got knocked out by that blast. Be it because it was Conqueror’s or because it was just THAT hard of a hit, end result it: I think Pizarro is unconscious now. And Vasco and Wolf CERTAINLY can’t beat him as they are now; Vasco’s too drunk and Wolf is just a big Target.
Nice seeing those GP Flowers come into play so soon, I don’t know how effective they’ll be when its time for Throne War, but if it means people can’t fire their weapons then………. There’s gonna have to be some Hand-To-Hand combat scenarios during the battle!
Of all the fruits introduced in this chapter, which one is your favorite? Mine would have to be the Clay fruit. It’s potential to make an army intrigues me.

York joining Blackbeard/An Emperor is the next best thing she can do besides allying with the WG. Plus, she’ll have juicy Void Century into to share with Blackbeard. Just wanted to put that out there.
Pizarro better not be KO’d. That’d suck for the character. Blackbeard’s captains may not win but just being able to throw hands with Garp is enough to hype them up.
My favorite fruit of the chapter? Vasco’s booze fruit only because I’m really curious what Oda’s gonna do with it. 2nd place goes to Pizarro’s fruit. Seem really OP right now. I’m not really interested in the Navy fruits. I’ll have to see them in action more.

York joining Blackbeard? I didn’t even THINK about that! Man, THAT’S sure to amp Teech’s forces- and their bounties! Not to mention what it’ll do to Pirate Island. Huh….. maybe getting a Vegapunk back on their side is how Teech’ll convince them to make Fullalead an official nation. I mean, considering they’re about to LOSE him. And he can probably leverage the Void Century info, too. Man, this is TOO good an idea for Oda to not be thinking of.
You might be right; having Pizarro get KO’d like this may help get Garp over, but hurt Pizaroo himself. Maybe just knocked “out” of the island. As for them throwing hands with Garp- it could end up like Rayleigh; Garp keeping them at bay on Reputation alone. Then again, if they call his bluff and attack, then….. what could happen to Garp? I don’t see him dying here, and him being captured……. okay, THAT might get the World Government to give in to Teech’s demands. But you never really know. I just don’t see him dying.
