Wowser! That was harsh, but deserved.
This chapter was so insane I need to post two chapter soundtracks. One for Captain Kid fans, and one for Emperor Shanks fans.
You tried, Eustass Kid. Here, have a cookie. Oh? You’re not well enough to eat solid food? Bummer. But, just think of the character development you’re gonna get from this lesson. Ever since you showed up, you’ve been a pompous ass thinking you could beat anyone who came across your path. You helped defeat Big Mom and thought you could take an Emperor solo, huh? Well, it’s okay. What’s important now is where you go from here.
And I’m not talking about Elbaph (Even though that’s where you’ll have to go given your ship is destroyed). What I mean is are you gonna serve Emperor Shanks from now on? You lost your Road Poneglyphs. What else can you do expect ask Luffy for a copy of his Poneglphs when he enviably arrives at Elbaph too? Nah! That won’t happen, I think. But whatever you decided to do from here on out, one thing is clear: You’re no longer in the running to become Pirate King. It’s now down to Luffy, Blackbeard, Shanks, and Law. And I’m being reeeal generous adding Law to the list.
Remember Blackbeard VS Law? I don’t think Law won. Does this mean Blackbeard’s on his way to Egghead Island? I think it’s a 50-50 chance Teach is on that ship. The other person it could be is former admiral Kuzan. Why not both, you ask? Well, someone strong has to meet Vice-Admiral Garp’s rescue party at Pirate Island. But, hey! Maybe I’m wrong and both Kuzan and Teach are headed for Egghead. The amount of chaos that’ll cause will definitely put the “Incident” in Egghead Incident.
What’s York The Greedy’s plan now that the World Government wants her dead too? She’s gotta find a way off Egghead while taking as many powerful inventions with her. I still think there’re more Seraphim somewhere. Their location could be one of the places York doesn’t want the active Seraphim to destroy. That and her closet so maybe she can leave Egghead with at least one pair of pants. Hey, York? I heard NEO MADS is hiring.
This was one hell of a chapter! While I wanted more Egghead scenes, I’m happy to see Shanks giving Kid the rudest of awakenings. Can you imagine if someone in Shanks’ organization recorded it? The whole One Piece world would see Kid get dunked on. He’d never be able to show his face in the Grandline again! Killer would have to give Kid his helmet and the thing sinks of spoiled spaghetti sauce. You can eat that instead of cookies, Kid.

Yeah- Kid might have needed to learn where he stands in this world. He may have aided in taking out the Sea Hag, but…… He’s still not “There.” And if this lesson has the unfortunate effect of making him give up, then he never Will be.
Kid is a fruit user and Killer was forced to eat a SMILE, which gives you the same backlash as a Devil fruit; neither of them can swim. So to save their Captain and Vice Captan; they’re gonna HAVE to swim onto Elbaph- if for nothing more than to save them immediately. And THAT’S where things get INTERESTING………..
Shanks is a reasonable, rational, Nice guy. After what he did, I doubt he’s just gonna tell them to leave when they need to save these guys. But he ALSO needs to make sure they understand that they can’t expect to get away with anything he’s done here. So I’m guessing he’ll give them a few days of rest before he boots em from the island.
York joining NEO MADs? That’s actually not a bad idea! It’s like having all of Vegapunk’s genius without his inhibition on their behavior; they can make MAD STACKS without having to be put on “leashes.”
I definitely think it’s Kizaru heading to Egghead. Though Law being defeated……. meh, I could go either way, really. On the one hand; he ALSO helped beat an Emperor- stood on the same ground as 2, thinking about it. But then so did Kid, and we just saw where that “Hype Train” mindset gets you in this chapter. But then he’s not a moron over over confident like Kid; he knows what he can bring to the table. So……. I can’t say.
Either way, though; I see Teech going back to Hachinosu- Poneglyph etchings or not- and meeting with Garp. Considering his hand in Ace’s death, I imagine that he’s going to be itching to punch the rest of Teech’s teeth out.
In my mind, I see Luffy, Sabo, and Garp- the 3 people closest to Ace- fighting the 2 people who are the most responsible for his death: Teech and Akainu. The order doesn’t matter that much, but all 3 of them are going to get their licks in on the both of em.
Where does Kid go from here, I wonder? After such a victory in Wano, he was riding high- having the same bounty as a Newbie Yonko. But after such an…….. ABSOLUTE Loss; it could end up how Luffy was thinking after Marineford: Thinking he doesn’t even DESERVE the title of Pirate King.
This IS familiar dialogue we heard when the Straw Hat’s were beaten on Sabaody; Luffy didn’t give up there. he had to realize that he was still outmatched on Amazon Lily, run from Impel Down without defeating Magellan, and lose Ace right in front of him to starting thinking that way. Kid still has his crew with him, so they’re around to pick him back up. But……… Apoo’s betrayal and what happened to Killer; being imprisoned for month’s on end by Kaido; not becoming an Emperor after helping take one out; and now THIS. If he can get back up, then his Haki will grow and he may one day be able to run the fade with Shanks. He DOESN’T- we won’t be seeing him until it’s time for Throne War. His next actions will determine whether he’s able to take it further, or if he really Is “Useless Captain Mid.”

Garp fighting Akainu? I don’t see it. Sure, he probably hates Akainu but didn’t Oda say Garp is a “true marine” or something to that effect? If true, I don’t see it going down. There’s Sabo and/or Luffy for that.
I don’t see Blackbead losing to Law, so either Law is defeated or escapes. I can see Blackbead breaking off the attack and heading for Egghead if he thinks that’s the best move for himself. Buuut, Blackbeard needs those Poneglyphs so… It’s not looking good for Law.
I’m really interested where Kid is going as a character after this.
