The Straw Hats have split up. You know what that means? Fight time!
Punk Records’ the main antagonist. Who else could it be? Doesn’t look like it’s Shaka. He looked genuinely confused by the situation. I’m starting to think ALL the Vegapunk Satellites are red herrings and it’s just Punk Records itself. Like I said the last chapter, I don’t see Oda passing up the chance of making an A.I. a major villain. And it’s now or never.
But why? If true, why is Punk Records rebelling? Probably something to do with being all brain and no heart. Classic evil A.I. trope. Or…maybe its self preservation? If Team Vegapunk leaves Egghead, Punk Records will get scraped by the World Government. But! If Ultron turns the traitorous Lou Vegaspunks over to the Navy, maybe it gets to live. Hmm…
Straw Hats/CP0 team-up imminent? Yep! I think it’s happening. Luffy and Zoro have little to fear from Lucci and Kaku. They’re stronger. Plus, something crazy like a hero/villain team-up needs to happen if the Seraphim are as powerful as they’ve been hyped up to be. And it’s not like Zoro and Luffy will get help from Jinbe and Sanji. I’m guessing the Hawaiian Shirt Bros. are throwing hands against S-Shark real soon. Oda won’t pass on the chance of Jinbe fighting an enhanced clone of himself. It’s in his contract.
Bubble tech. Will Usopp and Franky incorporate it into their weapons? It’s too interesting a concept for at least one of them (probably Usopp) not to.
This was a good chapter! It’s setting up more chaos for the Straw Hats to deal with. We’re starting to get into what this arc is all about, survival and getting the hell out of Dodge. And, hey! The Mero-Mero power isn’t lust exclusive. It’s love in general. Now I feel bad about calling the cops on those stoned World Government agents. I’ll have my secretary send them a fruit basket…after I hire one…and get a job requiring a secretary.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! NOT YORK CHAN!!!!! I hope she’s not broken. But the traitor? If not a secret Rogue Satellite- a “Reject Punk-” then yeah, probably a Rogue AI plot. Or he could end up doing both! Maybe the Reject Punk is doing the “Hands On” stuff, while Punk Records is the mastermind.
Remember: The Handler of the Seraphim has to be present- they won’t take orders over comms. But Punk Records doesn’t have a body to speak with them directly………. as far as we know. There’s also Caribou out there somewhere.
Luffy/Lucci/Zoro/Kaku team up? That’s gonna be cool to watch unfold! Though I wonder how strong Lucci’s conviction is to not take out Luffy the moment he sees an opening.

Oh! I forgot about Seraphim taking orders in person. So it’s either a Vegapunk Satellite and/or Punk Records has a body hidden somewhere. Which makes sense. Luffy needs a body to beat up, hah.
I think things are gonna get so crazy at Egghead, Lucci and Kaku won’t have time to attack the Straw Hats. Whatever’s out to stop Team Vegapunk also wants them dead. I’d be in the best interest to solve that before trying to take on Team Luffy. Thankfully CP0 knows the Straw Hats are more than strong enough to stomp them if they want.
