Nomu Shopping Network [My Hero Vigilantes 88]

That’s right. The Nomu Shopping Network’s your one stop shopping channel for all your dead super soldier ingredient needs!

Mirko once beat the snot out of Ryu from Street Fighter! Why isn’t she in One’s Justice 2?!

It’s not like we didn’t know All For One and Ujiko were behind the Villain Factory, but it’s looks like we’re finally getting official confirmation. Makes sense given the Villain Factory is the overall antagonist of the entire series. And, let’s not forget about Hood, the first High-End Nomu. It was revealed in the main series that he was an underground fighter. Safe to say not only was the Villain Factory using fighters to test their illegal drugs, but also kidnapping them either for their quirks or base bodies for Nomu. Probably both.

Personally, I prefer mixing my illegal drugs with cereal. That way it’s part of a balanced breakfast.

Mirko. She was once expelled for participating in illegal fights. Well, you can say she “busted” up illegal fight clubs. If you put it like that I can see how she was able to slide onto the path of becoming a hero. The question now is will she get expelled again for her antics? Nope! I wouldn’t be surprised if Mirko has a provisional hero license by now. She’ll most likely skate by on that. Plus, Detective Tanuma is pretty easy going with the rules. Under the pretense of her helping the police he’ll probably let her escape or won’t report her. I gotta say I’d love it if the only reason Mirko became a hero was just to beat the shit out of villains. If only Rappa thought the same way.

Speaking of Rappa, what’s he gonna do now? I don’t think he’ll get arrested. Maybe O’Clock will let him go. He’s certainly not getting nabbed by AFO or taking any drugs to boost his power. You know, it’s kinda nice that Rappa’s personal honor code is what probably kept him from becoming a Nomu back then. As for what’s next for him in the flashback… I guess it depends on AFO. If Rappa’s following O’Clock I can see the two running into a strong member of the Villain Factory trying to stop the undercover hero from escaping. If so, I feel sorry for that unlucky schmuck.

The saucy photos of All For One taken during his brief modeling career is just a bonus.

This was a good chapter. I’m loving Rappa seeing something of a violent fighter inside O’Clock, even if he doesn’t see it in himself. And, learning more about Mirko is always a treat. Hmm… Could AFO be planning on sending an artificial human or two after Mirko, Rappa, and O’Clock? Oooooh! Maybe we’ll see a No. 4 or No. 5! But, not No. 3 though. Ever since he was caught participating in illegal basket weaving clubs AFO has never forgiven him. The fiend!

You know what fight I would like to see? Mirko vs Rappa. Think about how violent and fun that fight would be. And the fact that she’s now missing an arm would add to the fun-however; I don’t think Rappa’s the type to fight someone who only has one arm. Though I can similarly see Mirko gaining his respect and him agreeing to fight because of it.
I’d also like to see Rappa vs Muscular. Imagine THAT!
This chapter gave us a little bit of a look into O’Clock/Knuckle Duster’s character- adding layers to him even after he stopped appearing in the story proper.

Rappa VS Anyone would be fun, ha!

And, yeah, I’m shocked with how deep MHV has went with developing KD. Here I am thinking this guy is some wacky joke character in the first several chapters but turns out is actually been planning the downfall of the Villain Factory for years, and that’s including saving his daughter and creating multiple successors (Koichi and Soga).

But, was it all for nothing? The Villain Factory still succeeds overall. Or, is the fact that KD resisted them and helped where we could IS the point? Or, did he always realize (at least after losing his quirk) it was a losing battle but fought on anyway because that’s just what heroes do? There’s a ton of nuance going on here. And, I’m loving every second of it.

I feel like both are plausible. He knew that this would be an uphill battle, but yeah-Heroes gotta do what a heroes gotta do. So he made sure that whatever he did would be useful to his successors when they end up taking on the Villain Factory.
