Oh goodness me, someone poured subtlety all over my chapter. Let’s see if we can dig into the heart of the matter, shall we?

Let’s start with Nomura (AKA No. 6) using the Overclock quirk to read people on a subconscious level. I doubt Knuckleduster would willingly tell him something like that but we see an image of O’Clock explaining it. What the frick?! Hm, could Nomura have access to O’Clock’s memories? Is that what’s he’s doing to the guy? Maybe he’s got ole Knuck locked up and is somehow piping him for information about his lost quirk. It would make sense. In order for Nomura to surpass O’Clock, he needs to know everything he knows about Overclock.
Speaking of Knuckleduster, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nomura got him locked up in that abandoned building too. He did say it was his hideout, after all. Hm…hideout. In addition to the police, could Nomura be hiding out from the Villain Factory? I doubt Ujiko wants Nomura wasting his time getting a hero license or being a manager. And, we haven’t had any indication Villain Factory shenanigans are currently going on. Could Ujiko had simply gathered enough data? Or, did Nomura abandon his boss’s mission to instead focus his own plans? If true, Ujiko ain’t gonna like that one bit.

Plans… Just what is Nomura’s ultimate plan? If he simply wanted to kill Koichi, he probably could’ve done it by now. Why all the deception? Why kidnap Pop? Is he just a sadist, or is there something more going on? Maybe this is all a plan to get Koichi to the point of wanting to kill Nomura. To fight the vigilante at his best, to find out once a for all in a straight-up deathmatch who deserves to be O’Clock’s successor.
Well, kidnapping Pop could very well push Koichi into wanting to tear Nomura a new artificial butthole. Especially, if he’s planning on making her the host of a new Queen Bee. Remember, y’all. Knuckleduster destroyed the original Queen Bee who inhabited his daughter’s body and her swarm. All except one, who was caught by Nomura. Could he have somehow turned it into a new Queen Bee, and could all those dead bodies be former hosts for it? Hmm… Not good, Pop. Not good at all.

This was a good chapter. There’s a lot going on we don’t know yet but I’m sure will be explained in the coming chapters. Seeing Knuckleduster in the flashback could be a hint we’ll be seeing him in the present soon enough. Poor Koichi. He’s gotta save both of them or die trying. Let’s hope he’s strong enough. Or, at least knows Ujiko’s phone number. Vigilantes are allowed to snitch, you know. Why do you think Batman hangs out with Commissioner Gordon? He’s the Wendy Williams of superheroes.
Anyway, I’ll see you next time. Same Snitch Time. Same Snitch Channel.

We’re getting closer to the end of this series; this chapter is evidence of that. I wonder how #6 plans to fight Koichi. You think he has an image in his mind on how the fight will go? Or is he not the type to think of stuff like that? More over; does Koichi really CARE about being O’Clock’s successor? He probably will by the time he faces #6, but as in right now?

I think #6 wants a 1v1 deathmatch. He wants Koichi fighting with killing intent and is using Pop to get him there mentally. Does Koichi care? Nope. He doesn’t even know Knuckleduster was a hero. And even if he knew I doubt he knew I think he’d be flattered but that’s about it.
That’s why I love Koichi, he doesn’t care about being the best or legacy or stuff like that. He just likes helping people.
