Two things I want to talk about: Knuckleduster and the potential time skip.
Firstly, WHAT THE FUCK, KNUCKLEDUSTER? Really, dude? Did you just leave Koichi and Pop Step without saying goodbye? And, no. Leaving your dirty brass knuckles doesn’t count. That is some bull sized shit, buddy. I know you’re stressed right now with the whole almost dying when saving your possessed bee daughter from some mystery guy, but you never heard of Twitter? A text? A phone call? An Instagram pic holding up a piece of paper with “Goodbye” written in crayon covered in hearts? At least it looks like your daughter will be okay. Well, after she learns her mom died…
Secondly, we getting a time skip ya’ll! Knuckleduster’s arc is over. Koichi has become a true vigilante without Knuckledaddy, and Pop Step is more famous. Everything’s set for a time skip…but how far we talking?
Right now, the series takes place before the events of the main series AKA before Deku meets All Might. I think it’s safe to say we’ve seen all the needed to see from pre-Deku Might time. Lots of fun cameos and some trigger drug shenanigans, fun all around. My guess is wherever we start is after the first chapter, but not beyond the current arc in the main series. So, about three to five years. According to Captain Google Search, college in Japan lasts two to four years on average. That gives us wiggle room to see Koichi’s life post-college.
Much as I’d love seeing Koichi a hero, the series is about vigilantes. My guess he’s holding—or trying to hold—down a job while doing the faux hero thing during off hours. Interesting enough, we never learned what Koichi wants to be. I’ll put my hypothesis hat on again and say he’ll be a teacher or something related to heroes. At an advertising agency, management, or even work at an official hero’s office (Ingenium?). Koichi’s day job will connect to his night activities one way or another.
What about Pop Step? She can go legit. Be a regular pop idol, but still help Koichi out whenever she can. And he’ll need help. That Trigger guy’s still out there. He and Koichi will cross paths one day.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes isn’t the best thing ever, but I’m still looking forward to what they’ll do. Depending on where they take the series it can improve exponentially or stay the stay average but fun sidequest it currently is. Put on your adult pants, Vigilantes and reach your potential!
Sidenote: Will Captain Celebrity still be around? Kinda hope he dies.
