Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game [Hands-Off Review]

Move over Dead By Daylight, there’s another unbalanced asymmetrical horror game headed for the big top.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game is based on The Dickies’ Killer Klowns music video that was later turned into a hit movie back in the 80’s—one of the scariest times in human history.

From watching others play the game on Twitch, I learned you can play as either a Killer Klown or Human. During a match, three Klowns are tasked with finding, killing, and emoting on humans, while seven Humans must work together to escape or bully the Klowns until they uninstall the game.

The Klowns look as scary as they do in the music video. All your favorites are back including Jumbo, Shorty, Rudy, and Bianca Del Rio. My personal favorite is Buggy. His special ability is making humans walk the plank. At least, that’s what happened in the dream I had last night.

Things aren’t all cotton candy and cream pies in Klownland however. The recently released game has several bugs and balancing issues the developers are diligently working on fixing between yoga classes and walking their dogs. Besides, a broken weapon or two isn’t that bad. What did you expect them to do? Wait until the game is finished before release? Get over yourself!

Also, other players curse—a lot. It must be a requirement to play the game because I haven’t heard that many f-bombs at a get-together since that time the church picnic ran out of potato salad.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game is not a movie. But it is a video game. So, if you don’t have the game, just do what I do and hold a controller while watching the movie. And, hey! If you do it while watching the music video, you’ll unlock the ringmaster costume skin. Neato!

Super Sophomores [My Hero Academia 425]

Congratulations to U.A.’s graduating Class of 2… Um, what year is it exactly in the story?

Class 1-A has officially graduated! Say hello to Hero Course Class 2-A! They grow up so fast, don’t they? Of course, if it were up to me I’d have My Hero Academia last through their entire stay in high school. What I wouldn’t change is Aoyama leaving U.A. Look, you did good, Aoyama. You helped saved the day. But, Shinso deserves a spot in the hero class, and frankly, I’m still a little butt hurt there weren’t long lasting consequences for your betrayal. If this and a slap on the wrist is all you get, fine. I can live with that and wish you all the best. Goodbye and good luck!

And don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Welcome to Class 2-A, Shinso! It’s been a long time coming. Gotta say, I’m shocked Bakugo’s back at school so soon and even more shocked at how calm he is when he choses to be. Either that, or the medical marijuana is kicking in.

They went all out. Even got Snoop Dogg as a guest rapper/speaker.

Wakfu: The Animated Series – Season 3 Review [Hipster Hotline]

What is Wakfu? Should you watch it?

First things first, in case you don’t know what it is, Wakfu: The Animated Series is an anime-influenced French television series produced by Ankama Animation, based on the video game Dofus. More specifically, Wakfu is based on the game called—erm—Wakfu, and is an action/adventure series that isn’t afraid to be goofy, which again, is very anime-ish.

If you came here wondering if you should give it a watch, I HIGHLY recommend the series. But, that comes with three warnings:

1.) Be wary of the English dub. Ruel’s English dub voice is awful. It took me out of the story. If you have a problem with any of the English voices then watch the original French dub with subtitles.

2.) Wakfu: The Animated Series takes its lore from the Dofus and Wakfu MMORPG games. Do not expect the show to explain the World of Twelve. Seriously, I played Dofus for a couple of years back around when the show first started and even I’m confused by the lore. You are dunked into the Krosmoz universe and are expected to swim. It’s not a deal breaker but you may be confused at times and won’t understand game references or game character cameos. It also doesn’t help that some of jokes, I feel, work better or make more sense if you’re French.

3.) The Gobbowl episodes. Season one and season two both have 3 episodes each dedicated to the main cast playing Gobbowl, a soccer/American football-ish game that’s popular in the World of Twelve. Despite having some good moments, I didn’t care for them. They didn’t need to be 3 episodes long in both seasons and I feel like the show mainly did it to promote Ankama’s failed Gobbowl game.

All that said, give the show a chance. It’s really fun and I can’t recommend it enough. There will be series spoilers going forward.

Blab King Story Hour [One Piece 1116]

The call is coming from inside the house iron giant.

Wow! I never would’ve guessed Dr. Vegapunk put the transmission transponder snail inside of the Iron Giant. That’s quite the power play from someone York was convinced had no idea what she was secretly up to. Makes me wonder if Vegapunk Stella had just finished planting the snail inside of the Iron Giant when Luffy, Chopper, Jimbe, and Jewelry Bonney showed up in the junkyard way back in the beginning of the arc.

But, if that’s the case—and York is to be believed—Dr. Vegapunk seemingly had no idea she was a snitch and thief. So, what happened? My guess: Punk Records achieved sentience. It was in the driver’s seat, directing Vegapunk Stella to prepare for the World Government’s attack. It would also explain how Stella knew what York was up to. Even if she didn’t synchronize with the other Vegapunks, York was still connected to Punk Records. And it decided to act, using Stella’s body to help get the job done. I’m not fully confident about this theory but I’m sure the answer is connected to Punk Records in some way.

Guess that explains why Rayleigh went into the ship coating business—and sells flood insurance. What a jerk!

Hmm… Could Punk Records have also put a bit of Mother Flame inside Iron Giant as well as the broadcasting snail? The robot needs power to operate and Mother Flame is an energy source so it checks out. Here’s another thought: Is Pluton powered by Mother Flame energy too? If it’s an Ancient Weapon, I doubt it’s just powered by wind sails.

Welcome Back, Koichi! [My Hero Academia 424]

Koichi Haimawari signals the the beginning of the end for My Hero Academia.

Yes, Koichi’s only in ONE panel and a small ONE at that, but he’s there. Wow! Just look at that costume! Horikoshi draws him so darn good. Koichi’s eye shield looks different, a definite improvement. Overall, his hero costume looks better like this, with the hoodie on, as opposed to Deku’s hero costume looking better with the hoodie/mask off. I-I just can’t get over how amazing he looks in that ONE panel. Eek! I’m so hap hap happy!

Consequences. We’re starting to see that starting with Deku, All Might, and Bakugo. All Might will survive but we don’t know if he’ll be able to move on his own without assistance such as with a cane or wheelchair. Bakugo’s whole body was wrecked, including his heart, lungs, and arm. I wonder if his arm rehabilitation will yield fruitful results or will he need special equipment to fully utilize his quirk on his right arm? Also, Bakugo’s heart really has me worried. It’d be interesting if he gets an artificial heart. From what Doctor Yoshi said, I don’t see him going back to U.A. for at least a month, and that’s me being generous.

Remember kids: Dreams can come true!

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door [Hands-Off Review]

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is back. And I, for one, can’t wait to give you my thoughts on the game.

I never played the original 2004 version, but I still feel nostalgic for the series because everyone else is and I want to fit in. Let’s get this out of the way: the game’s graphics on the Switch are amazing in the trailer. Mario looks 2D, just like paper! Bravo, Nintendo! It’s like playing a storybook on my TV…is what I’d be saying if I played the game.

And the controls? Well, someone on Reddit loved the controls while someone else hated them, so I’ll just guess they’re okay. It’s not like the controls are so bad you can’t play the game, right? But, if I was eating pizza (with a gluten-free crust, of course), it would probably be difficult eating and playing at the same time. Shame on you, Nintendo. You should’ve fixed that with a Day-1 patch!

All in in, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is absolutely a video game and I highly recommend it to anyone whose played the older version or follows gaming trends to feel like they’re part of a group and emotionally distance themselves from any harsh realities happening in their life they want to avoid. Let’s-a go!

Knowing Is Half The Battle [One Piece 1115]

Dr. Vegapunk putting all of Joy Boy’s business in the streets.

My brain is bumpin’ with theories about Joy Boy and the Void Century. I don’t know where to start. Hmm… How about we start with Joy Boy losing the war and the rising sea level confirmed not to be a natural phenomenon. It’s safe to assume that the Ancient Weapons were used during the Void Century, and I doubt it was by Joy Boy. If true, then The Alliance had access to and used Ancient Weapons. …Ancient Civilization. …20 Kingdoms/The Alliance.

Hmm…

Did the Ancient Civilization consist of at least 20 kingdoms? That would explain how they got access to the weapons: The rulers of those kingdoms either commanded they be made or stole them from another kingdom.

Joy Boy couldn’t have been just “some dude”. Entire kingdoms don’t join up just to stomp some guy. Joy Boy was important. Perhaps a king or prince? One of those I-Hate-Being-Royalty types who desired to be free. Hence, he became a pirate.

Phantom Blot?! Ancient Civilization is Disneyland confirmed!

Although, that doesn’t fully explain why the 20 kingdoms would pick a fight with him. Unless, they didn’t care about Joy Boy and only fought him because he was trying to stop them from doing something horrible. Something like…taking over the world? And in trying to take down Team Joy Boy, they forked up the planet.

Spilling The Tea [One Piece 1114]

Joyboy exposé incoming!

Dr. Vegapunk’s about to go full Wendy Williams on Joyboy, the first pirate. Joyboy, the main character during the events of the Void Century. Joyboy, who has a connection to the Ancient Civilization. And, somehow, all of this connects to the sea level rising. Hmm…

Vegapunk said the earthquake wasn’t a natural phenomenon. Then someone or something caused it, right? Someone or something linked to the Void Century. King Im? Maybe. Or…

What if the earthquake and rising sea level is being caused by an invention created during the Void Century? An invention powered by the Mother Flame? No, not Uranus (At least I think not). I doubt that’s the only machine powered by a Mother Flame. I’m talking about something else that’s raising the sea level. Yes! I’m a genius!

But… If it’s another machine, why is the sea level changing now? Okay! Maybe it is just Uranus. Either way, I’m betting the culprit is an ancient machine.

And the first to gain pirate booty. Yeah, baby!

Later Hater! [My Hero Academia 423]

Is he dead dead? For real this time?

I’ll admit, this chapter was a shock to my system. I was like “Is this it? THIS is how it ends?” But at the same time, the battle overall has lasted a long time and it was overdue to end. I felt unsatisfied after reading it the first time.

Then, I waited and read it again.

And, you know what? I like it. I think I really like it.

I liked that the One For All Successors damaging All For Shiggy’s core was the beginning of the end. AFO desired OFA so much, it’s great that when he finally got it, it spelled his doom. The guy got pulverized from the inside and outside. Yikes! Monkey’s Paw rules in full effect!

I liked that this chapter is the climax of all the team work Team Deku did to get to this point from the beginning of this arc, to the last chapter with every available hero contributing to the final fight, to the ghosts of One For All (and Shigaraki) striking the final blow against AFO along with Deku. Team work really did make the dream work. Kudos, heroes!

Pick Your Joke

1.) Thirsty? Would you like some punch?
2.) AFO’s about to get Shonen Jump’d.
3.) Looks like somebody dropped the soap.

I liked seeing AFO’s raw emotions when talking to Yoichi. His sadness. His loneliness. That’s the realist we’ve ever seen AFO. That was indeed his core self. Deku was right. AFO was a sad, lonely man who only thought of himself. I think Horikoshi showed us this so we can not only hate, but pity AFO. The man was pitiful. Truly pitiful. And he died a pitiful death.

So glad he’s gone!

Koichi Haimawari Rising [My Hero Academia 422]

Koichi Watch 2024 begins now!

Do I have to talk about this chapter? More specifically, do I have to talk about anything other than America’s President sending all the U.S. heroes to Japan? You heard me. ALL of America’s heroes have been ordered to go to Japan to help defeat All For One! AHHHHHHH!

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

AHHHH— Okay! Okay. I’m cool. I’m calm. It’s just… *sniff!* I’ve been hoping with all my horrid heart we’ll see Koichi Haimawari (the protagonist in My Hero Vigilantes) appear in My Hero Academia. Koichi is without a doubt, my favorite character in the My Hero universe. He’s kind, hardworking, and compassionate. He’s not about being the best. He just wants to do good for the sake of being good. I admire that in a person, fictional or not. Koichi earned his status as a hero. Every bit of it. By no means am I crapping on Deku or any other My Hero character; Koichi simply resonates with me more.

Alright. Guess I should talk more about the chapter, huh? Fine.

No! Don’t do your best. Save some for Koichi!
