All For One and None For All [My Hero Academia 385]

All For One takes a page out of the Plus Ultra Playbook.

“Blah Blah my darkness made me stronger blah.” No, my evil overlord friend. You’re already evil! Growing younger didn’t somehow make you more evil. Here’s what happened: You were pushed into a corner and your quirks evolved. That’s it. Quirk evolution through training and dire circumstances was something established in this universe long ago. Geez, All For One. Save the drama for your YouTube video essay channel.

Don’t forget about Pop Off’s ability to make someone celebrate after winning a match in a fighting game tournament

My Ghosted Vigilantes [My Hero Academia 384]

Ow! That’s some harsh character whiplash!

Gigantomachia. One of All For One’s most loyal henchmen is now attacking the Overlord of Evil, by choice! What the fish?!

I get it. It’s a thin line between love and hate. Sure, but according to the chapter, Giganto’s pissed because after waiting so long for his return, All For One let the big brute get captured by the heroes while he escaped inside Tomura’s body. That was enough to make the obsessed giant treasurer of the Fu*k All For One Club? …Yeah, I can see it happening but the fact that it happens at the BEST POSSIBLE TIME in the series for the heroes sours the moment. It’s just too convenient.

There’s Koichi. He’s standing behind Melissa. …I’m not crazy! You’re crazy!!!!

Wasted Potential: The Mina Ashido Story [My Hero Academia 383]

You’re NOT weak, Ashido!

Hirokoshi just wants us to think you are. Acid powers are strong. Given enough training you can melt just about anything. Not to mention the speed you gain sliding along the ground. You can cover yourself in it to use as a shield or simply go on the offensive. It’s versatile, powerful, and just plain cool. But…Mina Ashido’s a girl so it’s portrayed as weak. Geez!

I’m glad Ashido got a character arch. Overcoming her fear of Gigantomachia from junior high coupled with the drama of him killing so many heroes is great to see. Too bad it had to happen in the final arc where I doubt she’s gonna get much more of that precious/limited screentime. Hope you enjoyed this chapter, Pinky fans, because I doubt you’re gonna see much more of her doing anything spectacular.

Horikoshi can’t stop sh*tting on Mina

Everyone Hates All For One [My Hero Academia 382]

Here comes a new challenger! Gigantomachia!

That’s right. The ultimate bruiser is back! And working for the heroes, thanks to Shinso being in the driver’s seat. You can’t end My Hero Academia without Gigantomachia and this is a great way to bring the lunkhead into the fight.

So, is it enough? Are there enough heroes on the scene to keep All For One at bay until Eri’s Rewind erases his existence? Well…probably not. AFO’s younger and probably more powerful than ever. And even if he wasn’t, all he’d have to do is hit Gigantomachia with enough physical force to break Shinso’s brainwash quirk. Basically, it not over just yet. Especially, if someone offers AFO a gaming PC with Fortnite and their HBO Max password. That’d keep him busy.

Kirishima looking banged up. Poor guy fell off Gigantomachia twice.

Project Shadow [My Hero Academia 381]

Dark Shadow punched the perm out of All For One!

It was a good setup. Rereading the chapter you see Tokoyami approaching Pixie-Bob at the beginning with panels of Pixie-Bob sprinkled throughout the chapter. Great story writing, Horikoshi. Here, have some fried chicken—Oh! Never mind.

I also love Shiketsu’s heroes joining the fight. All For One is a big bad. It’s gonna take an overwhelming force to stop him. But I do understand why the battle against the Overlord of Evil started with a select handful of heroes given his ability to steal quirks. Now, it’s a straight up brawl! Power VS Power. May the strongest win.

Dark Shadow didn’t appreciate All For One’s yo momma joke

9,999 Easter Eggs You Missed Reading This Chapter [My Hero Academia 380]

Don’t you just love La Brava?

La Brava broadcasting Gentle’s heroics live over the internet. Now, the entire world of My Hero Academia will see how much a hero both her and Gentle are. Will they become legit heroes? I don’t see why not. Helping to defeat one of the biggest bads in history should do the trick. Besides, Japan is seriously low on heroes. The Hero Public Safety Commission needs to beg Gentle and La Brava to join their hero ranks. That or offer them a terrific healthcare plan.

Congratulations to the Business Course students for being useful for once. A shame Horikoshi boiled down their entire existence to blogging. There’s a lot hero business students could’ve added to the story such as learning exactly how a hero agency is made, getting the money to start an agency, marketing heroes to corporations for licensing, being a hero’s PR agent, etc. All that potential, gone.

And don’t forget to Detroit Smash that like button!

Return Of The Ashy King [My Hero Academia 379]

He’s baaaack!

Goodbye, All For Shiggy. Hello, Tomura Shigaraki. As it should be. Just as Deku is All Might’s successor and main protagonist of My Hero Academia, Shigaraki, All For One’s successor, should be the story’s main antagonist. So what does that mean? Well, for Deku, it means he’s in deep dog shit. All For Shiggy wanted him alive at least long enough to steal One For All. Classic Shigaraki just wants him dead. Good luck with that, Deku.

Well, at least you have allies, Deku. Mirio, Lady Nagant and… Um… Let’s see… Gentle’s busy trying to keep U.A. in one piece. Bakugo’s out of commission. Hm, why do I have the feeling Bakugo’s gonna fight again? I don’t know how, but I won’t count everyone’s favorite toxic loud mouth out just yet.

Nose kisses, the only thing that can save Shigaraki

Where The Rubber Quirk Meets The Road [My Hero Academia 378]

Welcome back, Gentle Criminal!

How ya been? Good? Say, can I ask you something? Were you always this damn powerful? Sure, La Brava gave you a power boost in order to save U.A. from crashing, but you defeated a prison’s worth of villains all by yourself. I’ve really been sleeping on you, Gentle. You’re amazing!

And you, La Brava. Not only are you a genius hacker but you can use your quirk on someone miles away! Geez, that’s powerful! Screw Kaminari and Jiro. You two are THE power couple of My Hero Academia.

Task Force XOXO [My Hero Academia 377]

Welcome back, La Brava! Are Gentle and Rappa coming too?

Not surprising my favorite My Hero hacker returned. La Brava’s the only character in the entire series established to have enough computer skills to stop Skeptic. Now that La Brava’s found Skeptic, will it be Gentle’s job apprehending him? The police could handle Skeptic, I guess. So maybe the former villain can backup the heroes? They sure as ship need it. Rappa too. I can totally see the masked fighter helping Fat Gum defeat Kunieda.

Stain’s not in police custody but I can see him arriving on his own accord. He’d be of good use against Shigaraki once he and Deku begin battling on the ground.

Remember kids: Wear formal attire when hacking. Hoodies and masks are so 2009.

When I’m With My Friends, I’m Never A Clone [My Hero Academia 376]

Kurogiri’s getting the band back together.

Team Gunga Mountain’s in deep doo-doo. All For One, Dabi, and Toga/Twice, that’s quite the party. Here’s an idea AFO: Kill every hero there except Endeavor. Leave him for Dabi THEN head for Tomura. Yeah, you’re on a time limit, but that won’t matter if Deku’s backup is dead.

Also, how come you never took a copy of Kurogiri’s warp quirk for yourself? Seriously? It’s one of the best quirks you can have. I think I found a plothole, Y’All. Don’t tell Horikoshi!
