Twice the Heartbreak [My Hero Academia 264]

Chapter Music Recommendation

Hawks hesitated to strike Twice with his feathers. Yet, he supposedly killed his colleague Best Jeanist. Riiiiight.

MHA_264_03
Uh oh, someone forgot to take their hemp gummies this morning.

If that doesn’t convince you Best Jeanist is still alive, nothing will. Anyway, we’ve got a betrayed Twice in the front and an angry Dabi in the rear. Hawks has got himself smack in the middle of a beautiful I’m Screwed Sandwich. Extra spicy, of course.

My heart goes out to Twice. Here he is ass up alone in a room with Hawks, probably thinking some kinky fun’s about to go down, and then the number two hero drops the bomb that he’s been lying the whole time. So, now Twice has a broken heart and blue balls. Hawks, you jerk!

I really have to give props to Dabi for not only being smart enough to know Hawks betrayed to Paranormal Liberation Front, but not blaming Twice for it. You know what they say: Bros Before Birds.

Predictions: Gunga Villa/Hospital Arc [My Hero Academia]

MHA_263_10-11

Since it’s still early in this current arc, I thought it’d be nice to try to predict what will happen. Besides, my ego demands I post my theories to the world in the event I’m right about at least one. So, in no particular order, I think the following will happen this arc:

1. U.A. Traitor Reveal

I’m starting strong, y’all. Yes, that’s right. I predict one of the biggest mysteries will be revealed this arc. Or, maybe it’ll happen in a future arc if the traitor has to kidnap Eri. Hmm… No, no! I’m not gonna overthink it. I say it’s happening this arc and I’m sticking to my guns!

2. Gigantomachia Fights City Evacuation Squad (Team Deku)

This was a tough one for me because on the surface I’d make sense for Giganto to fight the heroes attacking Gunga Villa because, well, he’s probably already there. But, let’s not forget Giganto is Shigaraki’s bodyguard. Once he learns Shiggy’s in danger, he’ll rush to his aid. This fight is also a way to let Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki mix it up with a baddie. And, it’s not like Horikoshi will put those three on the sidelines the entire arc. Nope, they’ll have to fight someone and I say that someone will be Gigantomachia. Now, whether or not U.A. wins is a different story.

3. Confirmation Chargebolt is Part of the Meta Liberation Army.

You’ve heard this one before. I have a theory Kaminari’s family has been part of the Meta Liberation Army all his life. It also explains why no hero has named dropped them nor the Paranormal Liberation Front. This theory also includes the guy with the Amplivolt quirk is a relative of Kaminari’s. Father, uncle, cousin, whoever he is he’s probably a Kaminari.

4. Hawks Backstory

It’s a long time coming. We know a bit but there’s a lot more Horikoshi can tell us. For instance, how tough was his training? Were the Hero Safety Commission just trying to cultivate a great hero or a tool for them to control? And, is Hawks desire for a peaceful life where heroes don’t have to do anything code for him trying to free himself from the HSC’s grasp? Plus, there’s the whole thing with whether or not he killed Best Jeanist, which I’m sure he was either forced to or hidden the fact he didn’t really kill him from his superiors. Either way, I wanna know what went down!

Electric Mayhem [My Hero Academia 263]

♫It’s time to play the music
It’s time to light the lights
It’s time to meet the Chargebolt on the Chargebolt Show tonight♫

MHA_263_4_-5
Is this Pro Hero Majestic? Or, did some hippie searching for forest-grown cannabis wonder into the fray?

It’s on, like Donkey Kong.

The Gunga Villa battle is underway with Kaminari as the focus character. Hmm… We got to see our dear Chargebolt looking cool while feeding the Kaminari x Jiro shippers a big ole plate of coupling. Yes, indeed, the shippers ate well tonight. Savor it, y’all, because I can feel Kaminari’s secret dropping anytime now. Oh? Did you forget the kids still don’t know exactly who they’re fighting? Not once has any Hero mentioned the Paranormal Liberation Front by name. Yeaaah… Kaminari’s Family relationship with the Liberation Army is coming. Your OTP is about to hit one hell of an iceberg.

What a minute?! Shouldn’t Kaminari go into Stupid Mode™ after tanking an attack like that? Did he figure out a way to prevent overcharging himself? Oooh! I certainly hope that’s the case. …Hm, what am I forgetting?

Mirko Minaj [My Hero Academia 262]

The Nicki Minaj of knockouts. The MC Lyte of legs. The Lauryn Hill of head scissors. I’m proud to talk about the Queen Latifah of hip-hop heroes herself, Mirko!

MHA_262_008
Mirko lets grandma order at the restaurant before her.

Mirko almost took down ALL FOUR High-Ends. Let that sink in a minute. And, yes, I know they aren’t Hood-level but damn, that’s amazing!

But, now that we know Ujiko is trapped inside his lair, it now comes down to awakening Shigaraki. Can an injured Mirko finish off the last three Nomu before Shiggy finishes his Windows 10 update? No.

Come on, y’all. Did you really expect Ujiko AND Shigaraki to get captured? That’d be way too boring. That’s probably the reason why Horikoshi is turning our attention toward Gunga Mountain Villa. There’s not much else to see at the lab except for watching Mirko fight. If Horikoshi stays at Gunga without regularly checking in on the lab, I almost guarantee Shigaraki will be over 90% charged when he finally does.

You Break it, You Bought it [My Hero Academia 261]

Can we just take in the fact that Mirko was about to kick Ujiko’s arm right off?! Yowza!

MHA_261_003
Mirko’s been listening to Notorious B.I.G. again.

Not much to talk about. This was mostly a fighty-fight chapter, BUT it did have some interesting tidbits I’d like to bring up.

Firstly, what the hell is in those two quirk sample jars Ujiko escaped with? Hmm… Are they quirks he wants to bestow onto Shigaraki? Could one of those jars hold the All For One quirk? That’s certainly a rare quirk he couldn’t replace unless the Paranormal Liberation Army frees the Evil Overlord himself. But, if the jars contain quirk samples, does that mean the Doctor and Shiggy will escape? I know Ujiko is a genius, but I don’t think even he can give people powers by having them drink it. This ain’t One Piece! If those quirks are indeed for Shigaraki, he’ll need to use a back-up lab to install them. That means he and Facepalm will, in fact, escape.

What’s Up With Invisible Girl? [My Hero Academia]

Toru_Hagakure_Full_Body_Uniform

I think Toru Hagakure is the traitor.

Yeah, yeah. I know. She’s been a suspect for years now. Even, Viz’s Official English Translator for the series, Caleb Cook, thinks so.

So, let’s dig deeper and dive into the why and the how. If Toru is indeed the U.A. traitor and is working for All For One and Ujiko (I’m hesitant to believe anyone else knows her true identity.), why would those two put so much trust into her? What could All For One had done to force a sweet child like her into betraying her friends? And, did he pick Invisible Girl as a mole because she’s…well, invisible?

I’m gonna answer all of that with two words: Rokuro Nomura. Those of you who read My Hero Vigilantes know where I’m going with this. For the folks that don’t, Rokuro Nomura is Number 6, an artificial human created by Doctor Ujiko. He works for The Villain Factory which is highly implied to be All For One’s organization. Or, more specifically, the group responsible for giving Ujiko valuable data he used to eventually create the Nomu.

We know Nomura is the sixth version of the Number Series and My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising features Nine as the main antagonist of that movie. So, where are the others? That’s right, y’all. I think Toru Hagakure is part of the Number Series, an artificial human.

Lucky Rabbit’s Foot…In Your Face! [My Hero Academia 260]

Daaaaamn! Mirko isn’t messing around! She may be the physically strongest among the Top 10 Heroes. Unless Wash is super jacked inside that washing machine.

MHA_260_003
See, kids? This is what happens when you eat too much gluten.

Oh, Ujiko. You sneaky little bastard. I was so sure you’d never let Twice anywhere near you to make a clone. And, I was right! But, I didn’t count on you replicating his quirk. What a brilliant move! No quirk is safe around Ujiko, y’all. Hm… No quirk is safe? Does that mean he’s replicated the quirks of every LoV member? Like, ALL of them? Well, it’s safe to say he’s got Muscular’s quirk (The Hood High-End somewhat resembles it.) so…yeah. I think he did. You know what this means, right?

Yep, we could be getting High-Ends with several LoV quirks mixed together! Maybe one with Dabi, Toga, and Spinner’s quirks. Or, One with Mr. Compress, Moonfish, and Mustard’s quirks. And, that’s just the beginning. Someone online reminded me of Mr. Compress marbling Overhaul’s arm. Can you imagine a High-End with Overhaul’s quirk backed up with Hyper Regeneration and Super Strength? That’s insane! What about Eri’s quirk? Her DNA is in the erasure bullets. Who needs guns when you can make Nomu breed with her quirk! Oh, my. Oh, my. Thinks are gonna get crazy once those High-Ends get loose!

Invisible Snitches Get Invisible Stitches [My Hero Academia 259]

No, I’m not talking about the Doctor working on Shigaraki. I mean the Invisible Girl AKA Toru Hagakure. Where exactly is she? I don’t see her among any of the heroes spreads.

MHA_259_014-015
We’re here for our flu shots!

Yeah, yeah. She’s invisible. I get it, but so will the heroes after she warns the Paranormal Liberation Front of what the heroes are doing. Yep, it’s a mass takedown of everything PLF. Ujiko, their hotel HQ, even their bases are all get raided at once. But, hey, I’m sure things will go smoothly, unlike last time with the Kamino Arc and All For One. …Damn you, Toru! Don’t fudge this up!

My, my, my, we learned a lot about Doctor Ujiko, didn’t we? Got his real name (Well, it’ll be changed due to a controversy linking his name to horrific WW2 events, but you get what I’m saying), public accomplishments, learned he’s quirkless, and know Shigaraki is “just over a month” away from completion. Hm, quirkless? Sure, he was born quirkless but I wouldn’t be surprised if AFO give him a little something-something in case of emergencies. Basically, don’t count the Doc out yet.

Is That Papa Kaminari? [My Hero Academia 258]

MHA_258_005
Did you take out the trash?
258KaminariDenki
His name’s Mineta, dad.

Check out the lightning bolt hair and eye pupils. If my theory about the Kaminaris being a part of the Liberation Army is true then I can see a member of their family in a high-ranking position like Adviser.

Normally, something like that would be the juiciest part of a chapter but there’s just so much info to cover. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the beginning of the biggest battle to happen in My Hero Academia since the Class A girls caught Mineta rubbing his junk on an old potato chip bag Momo threw away.

I’d like to thank Horikoshi for two important things in this chapter:

One, Why the Liberation Army was so weak back when they first fought the League of Villains in Deika City. And, two, acknowledging a number of people aren’t happy about the merger with the LoV. Finally! Things are making more sense. You can’t just have an evil organization join your sorta evil (Or, at least, fanatic) organization and have everyone be fine with it. THAT little detail will become a problem for Team Shigaraki at some point.

Nana: Warrior Princess [My Hero Academia 257]

MHA_257_005

257wonderwoman
Wowzers! You know you’re buff when Wonder Woman looks lanky compared to you.

Speaking of Nana Shimura, did you notice that symbol on her belt buckle? The one that looks like an upside-down A? It turns out the mathematical symbol can be read as for all. Interesting, right? For All. Could that be Nana’s hero name? And could the All Might codename be Toshinori’s homage to his fallen master? Hm…

And, what’s up with Toshinori wanting to visit Stain? Does he simply want to learn everything the Hero Killer knows about the League or is there something else? Could dear old Stainy’s original desire to become a hero stem from one of the Past Users? …Nah! I don’t think Stain’s that old. All Might’s been a hero for decades, after all. But, could Stain be related to one of the Past Users? Hmm…
