The Final Act? What do you mean, Horikoshi? The final arc? The final “season”? The Final Fantasy? Tell me!

Fine. I’ll guess what you mean. Based on how far Midoriya has mastered One For All, Shigaraki needing to take his top villain spot from All For One, and other future plot points like Toshinori dying, the traitor reveal, etc,; I estimate we’re at least at the series’ halfway point. You know, like the 2 year time skip in One Piece or whatever year time skip in Naruto (I’m not wasting my precious life looking the exact number up.). My point is I think there’s still LOTS of stories to tell in My Hero Academia.

Deku left U.A. High School! I’m surprised, but not really, if you know what I mean. I once predicted Deku leaving Japan to escape Shigaraki, so Mr. Ninth User dropping out of U.A. isn’t a complete shocker.

Here’s a question: Is Deku leaving U.A. part of a plan thought up by Toshinori and the top 3 heroes to keep Deku safe? I’d say yes. There’s still a chunk of time we haven’t seen yet. I’m guessing after Toshinori told the top 3 everything they realized there was no way Deku can safely stay at U.A. and decided he had to leave. Toshinori too, since his whole reason for teaching at U.A. was looking after Deku. I believe both of them are traveling together.

One For All is a quirk meant for saving. …Or, killing. Depends on what type of day you’re having.

This was a pretty straightforward chapter. The OFA predecessors wanted to test Deku’s resolve, and he came back with an honest answer. Deku saves people. But if he has to kick ass, he will. I like that. There’s no universal answer to being a hero. Unique situations will come up and Deku has to be prepared to do what he must, but that doesn’t mean he can’t at first try doing what he wants: Saving lives.

We learn AFO tried stealing the OFA quirk on two separate occasions other than from Deku. Interesting. So, Mr. Steal Yo Quirk knew full well he needed more than his quirk to get the power. He needed a stronger will and emotion. This also plays into my theory: AFO killed most of the other users but made sure they survived long enough to pass on the OFA quirk.

When exactly did AFO learn about OFA? For that matter, when did the 1st User know? How did the Younger Shigaraki brother pass on a quirk he probably didn’t know he had? There’s still a lot we don’t know about the origins of both All For One and One For All. And, I don’t think Deku (and the audience) will find out until the 2nd and 3rd User cooperates. Their story seems to be linked to the origins of OFA so we can’t learn about one without learning about them.

Info Dump Alert! A lot of knowledge got dropped this chapter. Let’s sort through it together, shall we?

First up, what’s up with the 2nd and 3rd Users? Why were they standing away and not talking? Horikoshi is obviously keeping as much info about them from us as possible. I think it’s safe to say their quirks are the final ones Deku gets, as well as they’ll be the last Users we’ll get details on. Again I ask, why? Guilt? Were these two villains or former villains? Members of the Liberation Army along with Destro? I’m really interested in knowing what their deal is.

Oh! And for the record, neither the 2nd or 3rd User’s hair matches AFO’s OG Bodyguard or Oji Harima. So, my Harima’s a OFA User theory is dead, BUT he still could’ve been a vigilante.

Big respect to the 4th User, Hikage Shinomori! His decision to build up power as much as he could is probably a big reason OFA is as powerful as it is now. In fact, I’d go as far to say that he’s the reason AFO doesn’t have the One For All quirk. Let me explain. If AFO’s been trying to keep tabs on the quirk while letting it build up in power, Shinomori spiking its power up could’ve caught AFO off-guard. And, by the time the Overlord of Evil decided to cash it in and steal the quirk for himself, Toshinori had already escaped abroad. Basically, what I’m saying is AFO underestimated how quickly OFA grew in power, resulting in getting his body wrecked by All Might.

A team consisting of the top 3 heroes in Japan. Nice, but what will they call themselves? The Burnvengers? The Wingfenders? The BJ-Men? Inquiring minds want to know.

So, yeah. The country’s gone to sh*t but the top 3 heroes in the country will untie to fix things. That’s quite a bold move and sends a clear message Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist aren’t playing around. It also sends a wave of much needed hope throughout the public who many I bet feel abandoned by a large number of heroes quitting and the rise of crime. It won’t immediately fix the situation, but it’s a start.

Recruiting heroes from around the world will certainly help. Gee? I wonder if a certain American hero will show up? No, not War Machine! I’m talking about My Hero Vigilantes’ own Captain Celebrity. This is a prime opportunity to feature him in the main series for a bit. Especially, now that it looks like Deku won’t be going abroad.

Why do I say that? A few reasons. One, Central Hospital is so medically advanced I don’t see a reason for Horikoshi shipping Deku abroad for medical treatment for his limbs. And, two, it looks like The Brovengers will figure out Deku’s connection to All Might and help keep him safe.

Okay, then. Now we know the whole story.

Well, not the whole Toya story. Remember the cliffhanger last chapter? The one with Toya snapping and trying to attack baby Shoto? Well, we didn’t see how that played out, but Endeavor’s left sleeve is burned. I guess we’ll see what happened and how Toya ultimately survived the mountain fire some other time. Horikoshi’s probably saving it for the Dabi: Origin chapter(s).

What’s there left to say? Endeavor was a horrible father. Rei went along with it and had a mental breakdown. The other kids, Natsu and Fuyumi, they…didn’t do anything wrong. But, they feel guilty. Look, you two, it’s not your fault. Rei, give them the number of your therapist.

I do love Rei proclaiming Shoto’s the family’s hero. Sure, Endeavor has to stand back up and face Dabi, but he’s not the hero in this scenario nor will be become one. He’s just taking responsibility for what he did, nothing more.

So…once again I’m wondering will Endeavor survive until the end of the series. Is Horikoshi setting up the #1 hero defeating his son? …No. I think he will try, but in the end it will be Shoto who finally defeats the murderous Todoroki. Just like Deku has to defeat Shigaraki, Shoto will have to stop Dabi. And, Bakugo will one day have to stop…yelling. Yes, my friends, Bakugo VS The Library is now set in stone.

NEWSFLASH: Enji Todoroki’s a terrible father.

We have confirmation Toya’s flame quirk is indeed incompatible with his Ice Ice Body. No surprise there. Everyone ready to talk about how much Endeavor’s hot garage? Alright, let’s do it.

But first, screw Rei’s father for agreeing to give his daughter away to some dude she never met. I’m not a fan of arranged marriages (Unless it’s me and Ahsoka Tano), so seeing that at the start really set the gloomy tone of this chapter.

I’d love to go on and on about Endeavor being a shitty dad but it’s already been done to death. Papa Flame gave Toya all the attention in the world so he’d become the next #1 hero. But, once he found out about Toya’s icy body, Enji abandoned him. Sure, he wanted his eldest son to stop burning himself. That’s nice, right? Yeah. But, the problem is with how he went about it.

Three-hundred chapters, y’all! Congratulations, Horikoshi! May you never get kicked into a pit by a guy screaming about Sparta.

Yoroi Musha, the #9 hero quit. Oh, excuse me! Retired. Yep, like the narrator said, this will open the floodgates for any other hero having second thoughts to pack it up. And remember, the manga hasn’t addressed hero students quitting yet. Keep an eye out for that! I don’t see anyone from Class A quitting. Maybe one or two from Class B, but that’s a BIG maybe. Most likely other unnamed students from UA will transfer out the famed hero school.

Wash has gotta be a cyborg. Why am I the only one talking about it?! And, if I’m right, was their cybernetics created by the same person who built the advanced medical equipment at Central Hospital? I guess when that person’s revealed we’ll get more answers.

Civilians are fighting back. They kinda have too given the current situation. Many heroes are dead or injured. More are quitting. And others are trying to recapture escaped prisoners. And, with the Hero Safety Commission in disarray, it’s just a chaotic time. Not just escaped convicts, but any gang or criminal is gonna take full advantage of the situation. So, what does all this mean? It’s simple…

The return of vigilantism.

Hawks is back and ready to attack…public opinion.

Got some more backstory on Hawks. Nice! Interesting seeing the number two hero up and about so soon. That Central Hospital is great, huh? More on that later. For now, let’s talk about all the other points of interest this chapter sparked in my fat, squishy head.

Did you notice Hawks’ father, Takami, had feathers on his arms? Also, Takami wanted to use his wife’s (Tomie) quirk to make money. Hmm… I’m guessing with the floating eyeballs and repeating “Don’t leave” to Takami that Tomie has some sort of clairvoyance quirk (The don’t leave referring to him leaving the house and eventually getting captured by Endeavor.). Clairvoyance + Feathers = Fierce Wings. Makes sense to me.

How did Dabi find Tomie? Did he ask Skeptic to pry into Hero Safety Commission records? Maybe. I can’t think of any other reason. Speaking of the HSC. What exactly are they doing in this current hero public relations nightmare? Hawks implied the chairwoman is too injured or dead to give him orders. Is the rest of the commission sitting on their hands? Time to step up, Mera!

Hahahaha! Oh, All For One. You sneaky mothertrucker.

That’s right my fellow My Hero fans. Instead of one prison breakout, we got seven. That’s a lot of chaos distracting the authorities, all the while keeping the tippy-top most powerful criminals from Tartarus close as AFO’s new goon squad (Note that none of the feature convicts from last chapter are seen attacking other prisons.). Or, maybe the better term is army. Hmm…

But wait! Seven other prisons were attacked but only six had additional convicts escaping. What could that mean, you ask? Well, I think the guards from that last prison may have gotten some unexpected help from a few notable detainees: Rappa, Gentle, and La Brava!

No super long Tartarus Arc for us, huh? That’s fine. Just give me the prisoners.

This ain’t One Piece. There’s no Impel Down Arc happening in My Hero Academia. And, who wants to see that anyway? I didn’t wanna see Pro Hero level guards with licenses to kill attacking prisoners. Or, a couple super advanced Ultron like robots defending the perimeter. Or, even the prison itself being littered with death traps like gas or acid or spikes. Nope, didn’t want to see any of that…

Okay, maybe a little. BUT, at least we got a bunch of powerful villains escaping who are ready to put the final nail in society’s coffin. Let’s breakdown all the prisoners of interest.

All For One (OG Version)– The guy’s got ambition I’ll give him that. Wants to be the biggest, baddest Demon Lord son of a biscuit ever. And then there’s his talk of an Impeding Void Era. That’s not good, whatever that is. Hm… void. An era without heroes, maybe? Yeah, let’s go with that.

Overhaul. Without his arms he’s not much use to AFO. Not that the guy would follow AFO anyway. He’s gotta somehow fix his Yakuza Boss’s body. On a completely unrelated note: AFO’s original body’s a wreck too. Uh-oh! If AFO steals Overhaul’s quirk he could fix his body. So, even if Shigaraki regains full control of his own sexy half naked body he’ll still have to deal with his old mentor in combat. AFO VS Shigaraki death battle is unofficially a go!
