About time an A-tier hero showed up. Queen Pop’s blowing up building left and right and the police sends Naruhata freakin’ Compass Kid? Glad you finally got a clue, Detective Tsukauchi.
Geez, man. Enough with the death flags. The United Nations Headquarters has less flags than you.
We learn why a young Pop Step first wanted to become an entertainer. As a way to get on TV and thank Koichi for saving her. That’s fine, but I’m glad she continues to do so because she enjoys it and not just because of Koichi.
Queen Pop attacks again but the C-Team heroes are ready to go. Oh, I’m sorry. I meant to say, D-Team. These jokers couldn’t catch COVID-19 in a packed bar during Spring Break let alone Queen Pop.
Because someone’s gonna literally pay for all this destruction and it won’t be the Japanese Government. Your ass? Ha! Ha! Ha! No. Endeavor’s coming to hand you your invoice.
Raise your hand if you want cake.
So, Shigaraki can choose what he wants to decay now. Pretty useful now that he has the All For One quirk. Also, we get another tease of upcoming erasure bullets when we learn Ujiko was (I think) replicating Eri’s blood. At this point, I’m thinking the erasure bullets will be a part of Shigaraki’s endgame. Makes sense. It’s a concept so awesome Horikoshi must be saving it for at or near the end of the series.
Eri’s blood, huh? It’d be really f-ed up if Shiggy got his hands on her Rewind quirk. He can basically use it as a healing quirk like Overhaul did. Yep, I’m gonna officially say he’s getting Rewind at some point. Either the original or a copy.
And to think, all that destruction could’ve been avoided if X-Limp didn’t destroy the coffee maker. The new Lord of Evil doesn’t handle mornings very well.
Crust! Damn you, Thanos!
Where’s James Janisse when you need him? Is 13 dead? How about the Wild Wild Pussycats? Wash? Oh, who am I kidding? No one can kill Wash! Besides, they can just bubble themselves to escape. But, yeah, heroes are dying, y’all. And, big named ones at that like Crust and X-Lee. Oh, X-Learn, I think I’ll miss you the most. *sobs on morning donuts*
So, the one talking to Deku was The First User and not Nana Shimura. Okay. Interesting how he confirms Shigaraki broke free from the “shackles of humanity”. Basically, making sure Deku and the audience knows Shiggy is doing all this by choice. Sure, he was manipulated as a young kid by All For One, but aren’t all kids indoctrinated? Look, it’s not like you choose to speak English or whatever you native language is. Kids are a blank slate which is filled to some point by their caregivers and society. …Um, what was I talking about again? Oh, who cares. My guy X-Lamb is dead. WHY HORIKOSHI?! WHY!!!!!
“Should we get started early?” Hm…what does Dabi mean? And, note that he said we. Could my theory Dabi was recruiting his own separate team all this time instead of for the League of Villains be true?
Tokoyami got a part-time job working at Uber Eats
Oh, my sweet Dabi. You really need an ice quirk to unlock your full fire potential, don’t you? Everything you do screams you’re getting one. And, hey! It’d be kinda fun seeing an ice/fire Dabi going up against his hero counterpart, Todoroki.
Tokoyami was great in this chapter. Saving Hawks, escaping Fat Gum’s tummy, this guy is on the road to hitting the Top 10 in the future along with Class A’s Big Three.
It was hinted All For One and One For All were connected on a metaphysical level but I never expected Nana to conference call Shigaraki before leaving Deku a voicemail warning. I wonder if she’s got Obi-Wan’s number?
Ujiko’s been waiting to give Shigaraki a break dancing quirk for years.
Since I already mentioned her, let’s start with Nana Shimura. If she was the one at the end of the chapter who warned Deku, it’s safe to say she was really in Shigaraki’s dream. Were the rest of the Shimura Family “real” too? Maybe. But, I bet the All For One we saw was the real deal too! We also got a low-key confirmation the hand Shigaraki kept on the back of his head was Nana’s. Geez, AFO! Can you not be an asshole for one damn minute?!
I care more about Pound being alive in the cover story than those Tobi Roppo meatheads.
Team Kaido celebrates winning the War on T-Shirts.
Y’all know the drill. The Strawhats have to separate for their individual or tag-team fights. The Monster Trio (Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji) naturally must each be on their own. The Weak Trio (Usopp, Chopper, and Nami) along with Shinobu and Carrot are traveling together. I really excited to see who they run into. Together, the Weak Trio is a force to be reckoned with.
Then, there’s Franky and Brook. Should be a fun battle or two for them. And, finally, there’s Jimbei and Robin, who I hope the latter gets to rumble against a baddie. Come on, Oda. Give Robin a good fight. It’s been ages!
Where do I begin with this guy? For one thing, why Compass Kid? Did he never think to change it after getting older? Hm? Can you change your hero name? Midnight did make a big deal about picking a good name early on in the main series, after all.
Oh, damn… Quick! Someone get her a copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons!
Anyway, Compass Kid is also rockin’ a classic superhero costume, complete with a cape. AND, he’s talking about his family. AND he’s patrolling as part of the Naruhata Enhanced Vigilante Project on what could be his days off. Yep, he’s gonna die, y’all.
Speaking of family:
Am I the only one here seeing a possible family resemblance? Hm…
Goodness, gracious! This battle is gonna take decades to finish!
Can’t afford Skrillex? Present Mic’s too busy? That’s when you call Scratchmen Apoo.
Holy crap in your butt, there’s a lot of baddies and goodies about to duke it out. I’ve passed feeling excited and am more worried now. Not counting the cannon fodder, the bad guys got the Tobi Roppo, Lead Performers, Ninjaoniwabanshu, and Big Mom’s kids. Do the Numbers count as fodder? Maybe Franky will wreak ’em with his robot or something. And, you can’t forget Big Mom, Kaido…and Kaido’s son? What’s that all about? And, who’s the mom? I heard it was one of the ladies from The Pussycat Dolls but who knows!
The heroes have all reached the lab. The High-Ends are getting trashed. Ujiko is captured. Shigaraki is “dead”. All’s well that ends well.
♫When Crusty America throws his mighty shield♫
Yeah, right! We all know Shigaraki’s waking up. Probably through sheer willpower. Even at 75%, he’s the culmination of Ujiko and All For One’s dream. Hmm… What exactly does that mean? For Ujiko, I can see it as him making the ultimate being or body.
For All For One, it may have something to do with his quirk’s weakness. Yeah, weakness. Think about it, why did AFO have a new set of quirks during his fight with All Might at Kamino? Why is AFO so obsessed with One For All? There’s more going on here than we realize. Maybe the reason is even the great AFO can only hold a certain number of quirks and that their power takes a toll on his body. And, with quirks getting stronger and stronger (the Quirk Singularity Theory), AFO’s body, even kept young with some anti-aging quirk, can’t keep up. Add All Might trashing his body during their first battle and we have a situation where AFO needs a serious upgrade.
We have the motivation. We have the tools. Ladies and Gentlemen, we’re about to reach peak Koichi.
Marvel’s Defenders reboot. Coming this fall to Disney +.
Let’s be real here. Koichi’s already strong. If he took the Hero License Exam that day he’d pass with flying colors. He’s basically mastered ground speed and maneuverability. His Shooty-Go-Blam is strong too. Right now, it looks like his main issue is a lack of stamina while wallcrawling. And, with Soga and friends’ help, Koichi will improve even further.
Can you imagine? Well, we won’t have to in another month or two, but Koichi will be insanely strong, y’all! Speed, maneuverability, long-range offensive power, all of it taken to his highest potential. Look, after all this, Koichi still may not be able to beat No. 6 in a straight-up fight. But, he’ll sure as hell give him a run for his money.
Seeing Koichi’s abilities brought home for me that he’s really O’Clock’s successor and not Knuckleduster’s. Koichi is the hero underneath the vigilante. While Soga is the vigilante underneath the reformed thug. Soga is Knuckleduster’s true successor. He’s fully embraced it, which probably means KD can’t do it himself anymore. Yes, I keep bringing it up but I can’t ignore the clues: Knuckleduster is probably dead.
