My Hero Vigilantes, Season One: Just Watch It!

It’s fantastic!

…? Oh! You wanna know why?

Well, it’s a faithful adaption of the manga series. Sure, some .5 (i.e. bonus) chapters were omitted and some scenes were altered or shown in a different order than the manga, but I assume it was to make the season more cohesive, avoid copyright issues (The manga’s filled with one-off or minor characters whose appearance references fictional characters from other companies. Heck, I’m surprised Ichimoku Samazu [Fake Cyclops] and Jube Namimaru [Fake Wolverine] made it into the anime unaltered.), or save time.

The companies behind the series, Toho and Bones Film, had a lot to pack into these thirteen episodes and I think they did a great job keeping the overall feel and heart of the original manga.

Adapting a manga can be difficult when it’s a currently running series. Which scenes are important and what aren’t, making filler so as to not catch up with the source material, and having to budget anime production costs for a series you don’t know how long it’ll last are just some of the problems that creep up. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case for My Hero Vigilantes’ anime.

The manga ended years ago, so the animation team knew exactly how long the series would be and budgeted its cost accordingly. It’s probably a big reason the animation looks so darn good. They know how many seasons they’ll have and can work within that limitation.

Wakfu: The Animated Series [Season 4 Episode 13 Review] {Season Finale}

This is it! The final episode of the fourth season, and—until the fifth and final season is created and released in a couple years—the final episode of the series.

Will The Brotherhood of the Tofu save the day or will the next season be a animated version of The Walking Dead? Let’s find out!

I’m going to divide my analysis into three parts: The Sadida Battle, The Necroworld Battle, and The Post-War Wrap-Up.

Sadida Battle

Shout-out to Amalia for inspiring the troops after Armand’s death. She and Armand had their many MANY disagreements, but they still loved each other. They’re family and always will be.

This battle feels more dire than Team Yugo’s because they’re more characters at risk of dying. Take Percedal, for example. The Necros did the smart thing and targeted him, seeing as he’s the most powerful physical fighter there. Thankfully, Amalia’s grief power-up saved him.

Retail employees one minute before their store closes.

Holy crap! Ruel did something useful! He and Kamasutar went full Steven Universe and fused into a giant beast man. A cool moment, indeed. Now, leave the show and never come back.

Buzz Off! (That Bee Scene In Episode 10) [My Hero Academia: Vigilantes]

<—Spoilers for this episode.—>

Yes, I’ve been watching the show. Yes, I LOVE it. And, yes, I’ll talk a little about the season as a whole when it wraps it. But, this couldn’t wait.

Kids: If someone wants to stuff live bees up your vagina. Say NO!

Yeah, I remember that bee-gina scene from the manga, but still…Yikes! Did you see how many bees came out? Kuin Hachisuka may not be the most evil villain in the My Heroverse, but she’s definitely the rudest! Because you don’t get much ruder than shoving bees in you friend’s hoo-hah.

Lil Wayne x One Piece Song Opens Door For More Bizarre Collaborations [2D News]

Not since The Powerpuff Girls’ Ace temporary joined Gorillaz have we’ve seen such a massive musical combo involving an animated character.

While Lil Wayne’s recently released album, Tha Carter VI, garters attention from musical songwriting icon Lin-Manuel Miranda’s involvement as writer/producer, its been uncovered the elephant “singing” in one of the songs off the album, Peanuts 2 N Elephant, is in fact One Piece’s very own Zunesha.

Unnamed insiders have confirmed Lil Wayne suddenly reached out to Eiichro Oda himself requesting a One Piece character appear on an album track. Unfortunately, all of the voice actors for the Straw Hat Crew were unavailable at the time.

Not one to give up, Oda called Ben Hiura, voice of Zunesha—whose only plans for the next week was playing Star Wars Battlefront II—agreed and the most notable song on the infamous album was born.

Since its release, rumors have exploded in the anime community over the next One Piece character x music artists collaborations, including The Weeknd and whale Laboon going on tour together as well as Cardi B’s soon-to-be released single, “Outside”, featuring a hook provided by Miss Friday and Mr. 13.

Wakfu: The Animated Series [Season 4 Episode 12 Review]

It’s the penultimate episode and our heroes are locked in an epic battle with the fate of the universe on the line. Gee? I wonder if someone’s gonna die?

Yes. The answer’s yes.

Can you guess who? It’s gotta be someone the audience knows and loves deeply BUT not someone too important as to generate backlash and fake internet rage. You know what? Let’s just skip the “love” and go with someone whose been a part of the series for awhile and won’t be missed.

Armand. It’s time to go, buddy.

Too much pink energy is dangerous

That’s right. King Armand of Sadida uses the energy boosting power of the Eliasphere in order to defeat the Necros invading his country. What a chad (Kids still use the term “chad”, right?)!

Wakfu: The Animated Series [Season 4 Episode 11 Review]

[Author’s Note: Watch Wakfu: The Animated Series for free on Ankama’s official YouTube channel!]

I was not expecting to see the funniest moment of the season during this episode!

Yugo putting Amalia’s horny butt on standby was glorious! Ha!

Look. I don’t hate Amalia as a character, but she’s got to calm the hell down when it comes to Yugo. Last season, she’s all ready to ride Oropo’s dick JUST because he looks like a grown-up Yugo. Never mind the guy kidnapped her pregnant BEST FRIEND and her son. Never mind he’s clearly the bad guy there to be stopped. Amalia immediately trusts the Big Bad of last season just because he’s hot. I’m surprised Amalia wasn’t slipping on the large vine she’s riding because she probably uses it every night while thinking about Oropo.

Fortunately, Yugo’s head’s in the game and totally focused on defeating the Necros. That’s what this episode was about: Yugo reuniting with the Brotherhood of the Tofu in order to save the world…again.

Lay off the onions

Of course, the Percedal Family mistaking Adult Yugo for Oropo was a treat to see. They’re all on board for the final battle. If not for anything but using it as a distraction from thinking about the traveling Flopin.

Sly Scooper [One Piece 1140]

What? No! Keegan-Michael Key’s obviously saying “Holy Knights“.

To no one’s surprise, Gaban was only testing Luffy’s resolve. Only? Hmm… Or maybe Gaban also wanted to confirm Luffy has the Sun God Nika fruit? Remember, he and the rest of the Roger Pirates know the true history. Nika and Joy Boy both played huge roles in history and now it’s Luffy’s turn to do the same.

It’s also safe to say Gaban will give the Straw Hat Pirates a clue on how to find the final Road Ponegliff at the end of the arc. Despite what Luffy thinks, he’ll definitely see Gaban again, learning of the old man’s connection to Shanks and Gol D. Roger.

We’re introduced to more Holy Knights.

Uh, what about the people living on the island?

Ankama Lied! Wakfu Season Five Kickstater Announced! [2D News]

–>Wakfu Season Five Kickstarter<–

Just like my ex, Ankama lied to me at my most vulnerable moment (sitting in front of the PC watching cartoons). I thought Wakfu Season Four was the final season to the epic (Epic, right? Kids still say that?) story of the Brotherhood of the Tofu.

Well… season four was so successful, Ankama decide to give the show one last go, for real this time!

Do you know how hard it is navigating that Kickstarter page while avoiding season four spoilers? Not that hard actually, but I sure as heck didn’t watch that season five trailer I posted!

At the time of writhing this post, the basic goal has been reached. But, the more money pledged, the more stuff we’ll get. Plus you can buy Wakfu merch like pins, plushies, and…vinyl records of the music. Uh, okay.

Personally, I just want to watch season five, which all backers will get access to on Ankama Launcher when season five premieres on French television in late 2027.

Oh! And in case you didn’t know, Wakfu season one and season two are officially available on YouTube!

Guess I’ll have to review season five when it comes out. Let’s see… How many episodes are planned for next season? Another thirteen isn’t—TWENTY-SIX episodes?! Are you kidding me?! I was planning on starting my modeling career that year.

Oh, well.

Wakfu: The Animated Series [Season 4 Episode 10 Review]

Qilby! Not him! Anyone but him!

Guess I should back track before complaining about what happened to one of the best characters in the show, eh?

We start with Zombie Efrim taking Nora’s mind-controlled body out to meet their mother. Looks likes he’s all finished using Nora to whip up a portal between the World of Twelve and Necroworld, so taking a little personal time to hit mommy with a few emotional jabs is the perfect way to finish off his productive day. It also doubles as a convenient way to let our heroes know Efrim is a Necro and has been using Nora to create portals.

This family reunion also gives the heroes a heads-up that the main invasion is about to go down. Oops! Probably should’ve sent an e-mail instead, Efrim.

Poor Nora gets a one-way ticket to Necroworld. Hey? Guess who’s gonna be making portals to every planet with life for Team Toross after the World of Twelve gets Sunday brunch’d? Here’s a hint: It ain’t Chell.

What? You said you wanted to get “stoned”.

Nora learning her “dead” twin brother’s been using her to jump start an universal zombie apocalypse is harsh. Toross is loving it though. In his eyes everyone will be equal because anyone left will just be a hungry Necro looking for their next meal. In case you haven’t guessed…Toross is a bit crazy.

Oh, Brother! [One Piece 1137]

Show, Don't Tell.

I guess Oda didn’t get the memo.

Lots of telling in this chapter, huh? It’s all setting up the upcoming conflict and the big Elbaph flashback, of course. Let’s see: Ancient Giants, Loki, Hajrudin, Other Giant Nations, Linlin, Saul, King Harald, King Harald’s Baby Mommas… That’s a lot of ground to cover. Put me down for at least ten Elbaph flashback chapters.

…Oh, what the heck? Make it twelve chapters!

Hajrudin wants to be King of the Pir—erm—Giants. Can we please have a democracy somewhere in One Piece? No? Okay, then.

Also, for someone carrying foreign blood, Hajrudin had the people cheering him on after making his king declaration at the feast. What happened to all the MAGA Giants? Is there a proud giant stealthy waiting in the background to ask Hajrudin for his birth certificate? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

The twist: Shanks is a triplet! See you in 100 chapters, Shamar.

I do like confirmation Giant territories exist outside Elbaph. Where are they? Are they part of the World Government? I hope those questions are answered soon.
