30 Seconds to Mights [My Hero Vigilantes 93]

Was it a Dream? Nope, the chapter’s here! No Alibi needed. Let’s talk, kiddies.

Pardon me while I scream. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Not much to talk about. Here I thought this chapter would focus on All Might taking down the Instant Villains and chapter 94 showing Team Overclock fighting Hoodie, but no. All Might only took 30 3 seconds to beatdown the Instant Villains. Wowsers! I keep forgetting how truly powerful the former #1 hero was.

So, yeah. All Might saved the day and Team Sugar Rush was able to fend off Hoodie long enough to be saved. Go Team Venture and all that jazz. Now, let’s talk predictions!

(All) Might Makes Right [My Hero Vigilantes 92]

Oh, this beautiful arc. Mark my words, this flashback is planting seeds to some big stuff happening in the future.

All For One’s finally putting that Toy Block quirk to use.

But first, let’s talk about All Might being able to bulk up in his prime. That was surprising. I always thought it was the result of his injuries during the 1st All Might/AFO fight. Nope! It’s always been a thing. Why? What exactly is it? My guess it’s All Might’s version of Full Cowling at a high percentage. Just like with Deku, the Symbol of Peace can’t be stomping around at 100% power 24/7. He’s gotta hold back when that insane power isn’t needed, hence him using Full Cowling too.

Nice seeing All Might and Sir Nighteye interact. You can see All Might’s always willing to put himself at risk for others (Deku, anyone?) while Nighteye is the more pragmatic one. Guess that’s always been their relationship.

There’re two other big takeaways I got from this chapter. One, All Might should easily be able to realize All For One is behind this mess. And, two, AFO really wants Overclock. This supports my theory of O’Clock’s meeting with All Might will lead to the speedster helping discover AFO’s location for the #1 hero. Which, of course, leads to the top hero and top villain’s first big fight.

Plan B: Snitch [My Hero Vigilantes 91]

Hoodie’s just too strong. Gonna need Mr. Big Guns with the big buns to take him down.

All For One hates Paul Rudd.

It’s Hoodie talk time. O’Clock suggests he has a souped up version of cellular propagation, which is kinda funny because that’s close to what I first thought Re-Destro’s quirk was. Anyway, it looks like Doctor Ujiko modified Hoodie so much his original fighting style doesn’t work. In the end, the bad doctor and All For One only care about power for their Nomu soldiers. Technique need not apply.

Um… There’s not really much else to say about the chapter itself since it was mostly fighty-fight/runny-run. But, I will like to touch upon a couple things. One, I don’t see All Might fighting Hoodie. If he does then Hoodie’s going down, hard, and going straight to Tartarus. We know that’s not happening so it’s safe to say Kurogiri will warp Hoodie outta there the second they see All Might arrive.

Don’t Underestimate My Hoodie [My Hero Vigilantes 90]

Remember them days when I thought No. 6 was created before Ujiko made Nomu? Well…

The battle for the last slider begins.

Nomu. In the flashback. What the hell?! Kurogiri AND Hood? And here I thought All For One was using… Oh. Oh! I freaking forgot! The Warp Gate quirk was created as a result of Loud Cloud’s quirk merging with others. It was created when Kurogiri was created. So, there’s no way All For One could have it unless he stole it from Kurogiri or Ujiko created a copy for him.

So, it wasn’t All For One and Ujiko, it was All For One and Kurogiri watching through security cameras. Okay, got it. But, what about Hood? I could understand if Kurogiri was the first (and only) Nomu but we already have another! I guess it makes sense. The process of making a High-End had to have taken years with adjustments and additions and who knows what else. Yeah, I’m basically saying Hood right now is NOT a High-End. For one thing, he’s got an average human body shape, totally different from that huge, monstrous body first introduced in My Hero Academia. He also can’t fly, so yeah, this is an early version of a Nomu.

The Defenders [My Hero Vigilantes 89]

We got the team-up. We got a goal. We got a villain. Don’t fret. Just come as you are.

Uh-oh! Someone’s getting cancelled.

Rappa, Mirko, and O’Clock working together. I honestly didn’t think about that happening until it did. I love it! But, who’s the person in the hoodie at the end? Hoodie… Oh! Hood! Remember him? The first High-End that fought Endeavor and Hawks in the main series? The one who’s base body was an underground fighter? Yeah, I guess it’s him, but is Pre-Hood worthy of being called a “top resource” by AFO?

Nomu Shopping Network [My Hero Vigilantes 88]

That’s right. The Nomu Shopping Network’s your one stop shopping channel for all your dead super soldier ingredient needs!

Mirko once beat the snot out of Ryu from Street Fighter! Why isn’t she in One’s Justice 2?!

It’s not like we didn’t know All For One and Ujiko were behind the Villain Factory, but it’s looks like we’re finally getting official confirmation. Makes sense given the Villain Factory is the overall antagonist of the entire series. And, let’s not forget about Hood, the first High-End Nomu. It was revealed in the main series that he was an underground fighter. Safe to say not only was the Villain Factory using fighters to test their illegal drugs, but also kidnapping them either for their quirks or base bodies for Nomu. Probably both.

Epic Rapper Battles of History [My Hero Vigilantes 87]

Foreshadow and connectivity. My Hero Vigilantes holds those two concepts in spades. And, this flashback will be no exception.

Holy crap! It’s Ms. Marvel!

Now, while I can’t dive deep into connectivity other than saying this flashback is most likely connected to the Villain Factory, the Big Bad Organization of the series, I will talk about Rapper VS Ripper. Or, should I say Speed Quirk VS Speed Quirk.

Oh, yeah. You see where I’m going with this, right? This was the first time we’ve seen the original O’Clock battling another fast person with Overclock. Breathing. That’s very important, Y’all. The more brain energy Overclock consumes, the faster the user will wear out. Remember this:

So, basically, the longer someone with Overclock pushes themselves, the faster the power will wear them out. And, fighting another speedster is a surefire way to lose your stamina! So, yeah, No. 6 VS The Crawler will be an endurance battle. Who can keep going long enough to win? Who will run out of “juice” first? In a battle of speed, the last person moving wins!

PaRappa the Rapper [My Hero Vigilantes 86]

My speculation juices are cooking! So, let’s pull this Vigilantes roast (or veggies if you’re vegan) out the oven and chow down on some high calorie theories.

Mr. Compress? Is that you?

First things first, I just realized O’Clock and Detective Tanuma has an All Might/Detective Tsukauchi relationship. It was staring me in the face but I never picked up on it! No wonder Tanuma put faith into Soga and the boys protecting Pop. If his old partner trusts them so should he.

We knew O’Clock was good at investigating criminal organizations, but it looks like he also tackled the illegal drug business. Hmm… Was this road leading O’Clock down the path to AFO’s organization? Were they in the illegal drug business back then? It’s not a stretch considering the Villain Factory was giving people illegal versions of the trigger drug at the beginning of the series.

The Bodyguards [My Hero Vigilantes 85]

Operation: Protect Pop is a go!

Koichi just low-keyed sniped from way up on that building. I’m so proud of my boy! *cries*

Pop still hasn’t woken up. It’s gonna be rough when she does. I’m not talking about her being officially arrested or anything like that. Detective Tsukauchi is a straight-arrow but he’s not stupid. The Queen Bee parasite alone is proof Pop was the victim in all this. Midnight and Makoto backing Pop up only adds to her credibility. No, I’m talking about the mental, physical, and psychological effects of being controlled by Queen Bee. It’s gonna be rough battle for Pop getting past this ordeal.

It’s actually really good Detective Tsukauchi’s on the case. Again, he’s no dummy and is determined to get to the truth. While The Crawler could be considered a suspect, Tsukauchi knows well enough he’s most likely isn’t at this point. Team Koichi just has to find proof No. 6 was behind it all. And, it won’t be all that hard of a sell for Tsukauchi to believe them considering he’s tussled with No. 6 waaaay back in chapter 35. It’s all coming together, y’all!

Midnight Confessions [My Hero Vigilantes 84]

[Recommended Reading Music]

Well. Well. Well.

I was not expecting her to show up.

Midnight regrets eating a Brussels sprouts salad for lunch.

Who knew out of all the pro heroes Koichi and Pop met, it’d be Midnight who saves the day! What a great callback to a great character. It makes sense when you think about how she knows both vigilantes’ identities and has an overall deeper relationship than every pro they’ve met with the possible exception of Captain Celebrity.

Her quirk really came in handy. Now, all Pop and Koichi have to do is clear their names. And, again, I believe Makoto and Detective Tsukauchi will be key figures in helping the illegal duo exonerate themselves. I can even see the crab cop, Kaniko, helping out along with Fat Gum.

Let’s talk about identity. No. 6 wants one, badly. That’s why he latched on to becoming the next O’Clock. He had the quirk, so why not also take the name? Too bad he went about achieving his dream in the most evil way.
