Bakugo won both Japan and America’s popularity polls. Jerks must be in this season.
The most adorable thing with horns not counting my old BMX bike.
Team Bakugo won.
And, all through the power of friendship. …Or, teamwork, if you wanna be accurate. Tokage didn’t know Bakugo is more of a team player now, so her plans to capitalize on McSplode’s lone wolf tactics failed, big time. Class A worked together and took down every Class B member for a total 4-0 steamroll. Good job, Class A.
Love the way Hirokoshi drew Bakugo’s eyes immediately reacting to Tokage. Nice touch.
Class B dominates the tactics, while Class A plays catch up. Been there, done that. But, hey, it’s Bakugo. The kid is fun to watch at least, win or lose. Aizawa acknowledges he’s been skipping Teamwork 101 in favor of Power Up 202. To be fair, Aizawa’s methods will wield higher results further down the line, but the ideal method is a little of both teachings.
Win to Save. Save to Win. Step on to Protect. Protect to Step on.
Not much else to say. Tokage distracted Jiro so her teammates could hone in without notice and Bakugo saved their butts. I hope Jiro does something, but Bakugo will probably carry the team. Too bad. This is a great opportunity to showcase Sero, Saito, and Jiro. Won’t happen, but I can dream. I’ve given up on Hirokoshi giving the C and D cast important screen time this arc. They’re filling the usual background roles. *sigh*. Oh, well, at least I got Papa Vlad’s smack talk.
And, with that my predictions are thrown out the window. But, let’s backtrack. Iida woke up but couldn’t move, leaving Pony, Shoji, and Ojiro to duke it out for the win. Naturally, Ojiro gets thrown in jail evening the score to one apiece. Now, I’ll give Tailman credit for freeing Shoji, but the jail thing balances his performance to zero. Sorry, Ojiro.
Yes, we get it. They’re hot. You don’t have to rub it in.
Todoroki didn’t have a specific heat attack, he simply increased his fire output to dangerous levels. Not what I expected, but still cool, ha. It’s also a stepping stone for Todoroki to began copying Endeavor’s actual fire attacks.
Ojiro did something, Y’all! He helped takedown Pony with Shoji. But, Mudman ruined their day. I’m assuming Ojiro and Shoji are trapped in the now hardened ground, leaving Pony to, I don’t know, win the game?
And, Todoroki’s the coolest in Class A. Get it? No? I’ll explain later.
Never tell the enemy about your power. Don’t you watch Jojo?
We learn how Iida developed Recipro Turbo, by self-mutilation. And training. Can’t forget the training. But, mostly by ripping out body parts. Thanks, Grandpa Iida!
Mudman does the smart thing and escapes to back up tetsutetsu while Iida does the same for Ojiro. That’s one Class B student down, three to go. Maybe Ojiro can pull himself together and help take down Mudman. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Woo! But, seriously, I hope he does something useful.
As predicted, he’s the guy leading Class B to victory, dealing with Todoroki’s ice, as well as, making objects soft ahead of time. I expect a short flashback about him getting into UA soon.
Poor Ojiro is in trouble. I need to know what’s so awesome about him. I want to see him shine as a character at least once this match, to show why he’s a UA student. More so, I want Ojiro to be the exception. To be someone who got into UA almost purely by hard work and training, not by his quirk. Because let’s be honest, Ojiro’s quirk isn’t amazing. It isn’t flashy. It isn’t overflowing in potential. Doesn’t mean Ojiro isn’t any of those things, but it does mean he has to work harder to make his quirk useful. I want to see that.
My Hero Academia is off next week and I couldn’t be happier. Seriously. Horikoshi deserves a freaking break!
I didn’t know Bender’s kids worked at UA
I hope someone plays this song for Tokoyami.
Since this was another short chapter (Don’t waste your break only playing Spider-man on PS4, Hirokoshi.) we don’t get to see Aizawa punching Aoyama and Hagakure in the face, but let’s assume it happened off-panel. We gear up for match #3. Team Idia VS Team Tetsutetsu.
We get some foreshadowing that Todoroki will use at least one of Endeavor’s attacks this match. He’s never done it in a fight so far. Should be an interesting moment. Meanwhile, Iida is ready to prove why he’s in most official My Hero Academia promo art. Let’s hope he earns his keep or the upcoming X-mas poster will have Mineta instead. Eek!
Is there really anything fighting wise left for Toshinori to teach Deku?
Don’t leave them hanging, Deku
The kid already knows the basics and has copied almost every one of All Might’s attacks (Oklahoma Smash being the only move he hasn’t yet performed comes to mind). Face it, Toshinori has the knowledge and experience to continue mentoring Deku, even helping Deku improve his current abilities. But, when it comes to coming up with new fighting moves I think the former #1 is tapped out.
But, this is a battle shonen, right? Deku has to learn new moves, right? So, what will he do? Easy, get someone else to teach him. No, not Aizawa? And, not Gran Torino. I’m talking about seven teachers who’ve been with him since the day he ate All Might’s mighty hair: The previous One For All users.
So, why didn’t you drop a couple flash bombs then hit her with a net first?
Your whole shtick is stealth. Stealth. Why in the bloody hell would you alert a target of your presence? And why was it taking so long to take Manga down? Are you telling me the invisible student whose quirk allows her to sneak up on people doesn’t have hand-to-hand combat skills? Seriously! You didn’t think to take a couple martial arts classes? No one ever suggested that? I can’t believe this. The one person who should know how to beat down a person doesn’t know how to fight. My jaw is on the floor. You know, where freaking Manga should’ve been in two seconds flat!
I’m not done yet. Aoyama, you were literally carried by your team. You got captured, twice before the end. You couldn’t hit Kuroiro with a beam sent through your arm? Come on, dude. That was a weak performance. Poor Momo and Tokoyami did their best but how do you expect them to win when it’s 2 vs 4?
Oh, and happy 200th chapter My Hero Academia. I already sent my present to Hirokoshi. It’s a new pillow because I’m sure my buddy needs a good nap.
We learn more about Kinoko’s quirk, Mushroom. She grows mushrooms. Yeah. Let’s move on to the quirk of the day, Comic. Manga Fukidashi has the power to make onomatopoeia real. Love it. Love it. Loooove it! Such a crazy quirk and quite powerful. That wham wall he made was gigantic! And his sound effects have the power to generate what they represent, so Manga’s humid words are actually humid and help make Kinoko’s mushrooms grow more! It’s my favorite Class B quirk so far by a mile. Could it be overpowered? I hope so! Like Class A, I want Class B to have a couple super strong quirk users.
