Isak Danielson [My Hero Academia 251]

MHA_251_009
Yep. He’s definitely Isak Danielson.

This was an all-action chapter, y’all. Not a lot of potatoes, but plenty of meat (or tofu if you’re not into munching animal flesh). Speaking of flesh, Natsuo is about to get his messed up if Endeavor doesn’t save the day. And guess what, he doesn’t! The Always professional Endeavor hesitates. His fear of possibly losing another son affecting his job performance. He’s not Playing Love, he really does care for all his children now. But luckily here comes Shoto, Bakugo, and Deku to save the day with their Power.

Using the lessons taught to them by Endeavor, we see how each intern improves in some way. Shoto concentrates his fire into a barrier blocking the mentally Broken Isak’s attack. Bakugo concentrates his explosives into one small blast that rockets him forward and saves Natsuo from a taxi cab. Hmm, I wonder if it’s the taxi Natsuo was waiting for back at Todoroki HQ. Oh, the irony if that’s true.

It’s Called A Home Security System [My Hero Academia 250]

You know? Those things that protect people’s homes. Especially, the homes of prominent members of society like the number one hero in Japan! A guard, a robot, motion detection lights, anything would be better than nothing. Look into it after Natsu’s funeral if you got the time.

250nottheUS
Wrong country, Ending. You want The Avengers.

I’m kidding. Natsu won’t die. Maimed possibly, but definitely not dying.

We don’t get much more information on Toya. Mostly confirmation he “died” after Rei was first admitted to the hospital for burning Shoto. There’s really not much else to talk about except for Ending. So, let’s get to him.

A villain with a death wish. Gotta say I’m intrigued with this guy. Looks like he has a quirk that allows him to control his bandages, plus he used the trigger drug so he should be a pretty dangerous guy to fight right now. That, and he’s crazy.

What? No Dessert? [My Hero Academia 249]

Ring the Japanese equivalent of a triangle bell, cause it’s dinnertime!

MHA_249_003
They’re either training really hard or forgot to take a shower.

Enji’s been dreaming of his family together at the dinner table, but he’s never in them. He wants to be a better father but how? Well, I can tell you how to be a better husband right now:  Stop calling your wife “The Wife” when thinking about her. Was that weird to anyone else? He mentioned his kids by name but not Rei. Hm, maybe that means something.

Anyway, Endeavor brings Shoto, Deku, and Bakugo home for dinner as Fuyumi suggested last chapter. Natsu is there too so it doesn’t take long for things to get awkward when Natsu mentions Enji not approving of his cooking because it was too rich for his precious Shoto to eat. Enji doesn’t even remember that and that’s enough to send Natsu walking out the room. With dinner a bust, Deku learns Bakugo knew about Crap Dad Enji since overhearing his and Shoto’s conversation back in the U.A. Festival Arc. Deku and Bakugo overhear Fuyumi talking to Shoto about their dad which was nice to see. Not just because I love watching those two siblings interact, but I love Fuyumi admitting she’s upset at Endeavor too but is trying to use his change of heart as a spark to bring the family closer together. She’s having a hard time, y’all but at least she’s trying to do something about it! More on that later.

Ouji Harima Was A Previous One For All User? [My Hero Academia]

image00103

This is a quickie, y’all. For those that don’t know, the second character book came out in Japan somewhat recently. It contains general info and details not yet mentioned in the main series about a multitude of characters. One of which I learned is a little tidbit on Ouji Harima. It’s not much but a fan translation says:

It notes Harima was a thief who dressed in a peculiar costume. Says he mainly targeted the rich and gave the money he stole to the poor. Notes that although his actions were crimes, he was supported by some people.

That got my theory juices flowing. Remember this:

ouji00

Yeah. See those two hidden One For All users? I think one of them is Ouji Harima.

I know. I know. There’s not much to go on, but unless Harima has an immortality quirk, I think this is the best way to bring him into the series. It would also make sense for Horikoshi to hide his design. Although, if I’m right, what does that mean for the other shadow person? What’s so special about them? Hmmmm. Well, I got nothing concerning that. But, yeah. Just throwing it out there. Bye-bye!

Basic Bros [My Hero Academia 248]

Endeavor’s all about learning the fundamentals. Yeah, he makes a good point.

MHA_248_001
Hm. Looks like Uraraka upgraded her costume. I wonder if she can maneuver in the air now?

On the job training. That’s what this chapter is all about. Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki are following Endeavor around, trying to out hero him, but Mr. Number One got everything handled. He tells Bakugo and Shoto to train to unleash their max power for a moment or focusing it. Deku gets orders to drop Black Whip training right now and put all his experience points into mastering Air Force subconsciously. Then, he can work on Black Whip. One thing at a time, y’all. You gotta take problems one step at a time.

I Wanna Really, Really, Really Wanna Zigazig Ah [My Hero Academia 247]

247endeavorface
♫If you wanna be my intern, you gotta get with my friends
(Gotta get with my friends)
Make it last forever, internships never ends
If you wanna be my intern, you have got to give
Training’s not too easy, but that’s the way it is♫

Fuyumi. What’s going on with her? I thought last chapter she was praying for Toya or something. That’s fine. But, here she is again. Something’s happening, y’all. I don’t know what but I’m more interested in that than what happened this chapter.

Instead of a time skip, we get Endeavor requesting more info on Deku and Bakugo in order to better train them. Deku is pretty forthcoming, mentioning his desire to get stronger without hurting himself and mastering Black Whip. Bakugo is more interested in learning what he can’t do. Which is arrogant, but good that he realizes there might be areas he’s lacking in terms of fighting. What I hope happens is Endeavor showing Bakugo what it means to be a professional. A hero who can talk to people without being a jerk and still command respect. There’s more to being a hero than being in the field and I hope Bakugo picks up on that fact interning with Mr. #1.

Give Me 200cc’s of Whoopin’ Your @$$ [My Hero Academia 246]

Quirk Singularity.

It’s been a thing throughout the entire series but people rarely talk about it.

In an operating room, Ujiko gets ready to put Shigaraki under the knife, or laser, or whatever it is he’s gonna do bring out Shiggy’s full power. No, that’s wrong. He’s already at full power. Actually, Shigaraki wants to go PLUS ULTRA! Oh, the irony. Anyway, as strong as Shiggy is right now, he’s smart enough to know it’s still not enough to beat Japan’s heroes. Especially since Re-Destro survived their fight and his arm got damaged from using all his power. That’s where Ujiko, probably the most knowledgable person on quirks in the country or world, comes in.

So, back to Quirk Singularity. Ujiko explained the theory to Shigaraki. Basically, quirks are getting more powerful but human physical bodies aren’t keeping up. That could evenually lead to people developing quirks so powerful they can’t control them and they destroy the world. Bummer. Ujiko also said there have been actual signs of Quirk Singularity (or QS as I’ll call it from now on) since the Fourth Generation. What kind of signs? You should know. We’ve all seen it since the beginning. Not counting One For All slowly growing so powerful it can destroy it’s host body there’s Todoroki whose quirk can hurt his body if he doesn’t regulate his temperature, Kaminari whose brain fries if he overuses his electric quirk and Mineta whose head gets bloody if he pulls out too many grape balls. Tsuyu getting sleepy in cold tempetures, Aizawa needing eye drops, the list goes on. One things for sure, Horikoshi’s had QS in mind since Day 1.

Burns & Noble [My Hero Academia 245]

Endeavor figured it out, y’all!

MHA_245_008
Bruh! You can’t read books with your fire quirk activated.

The number one hero did, in fact, notice Hawks’ strange behavior. His out of nowhere liberation fanboying coupled with an unusually serious face tipped off Endeavor enough to go through the Meta Liberation War book in search of a clue. And, thanks to Hawks emphasizing the word second, Hot Lips breaks the code. Reading only the second word in each highlighted section, Hawks updates Endeavor on everything he knows about the Paranormal Liberation Front. Why the Public Safety Commission heads didn’t contact him directly? The reason could be possible phone taps and monitoring by Skeptic’s Feed Good Inc. telecommunications company? Or, could Hawks think there’s a PLF mole at Endeavor’s agency?!

It makes sense. The PLF would definitely want one of their agents there. And with Endeavor having over 30 sidekicks, it’ll be easy for him or her to go reasonably unnoticed. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Burnin! But, she could be too obvious, so I’ve also got my other eye on that Bandaged Face Guy.

Reading Rainbow [My Hero Academia 244]

What’s going on here? Who was that old guy? How does Hawks want Endeavor to pick up on the Paranormal Liberation Front threat? Let’s talk about My Hero Academia 244 and figure it out. But, you don’t have to take my word for it!

244liberationkoolaid
Uh-oh! Looks like that office worker’s been drinking the liberation kool-aid too. Chill dude, you ain’t the Punisher.

I’m dying to talk about Starservant. Caleb Cook, Viz’s English translator for My Hero Academia believes he could be a local hero or a palm reader. While I agree the old man could be some kind of palm reader/fortune teller, I’d think Endeavor or the police would’ve mentioned if he was a hero so I’m guessing he’s not in the hero business. I also find it interesting how powerful Starservant is. The guy’s using his quirk to float high in the air on balls while using said balls to absorb glass windows. What the what??? And not just a couple windows, he absorbs windows off of multiple skyscrapers, y’all! I don’t think that’s something your average citizen can do. That’s why I believe Starservant is using a quirk enhancing drug like Trigger to take on Endeavor. His nose bleeding could also be a sign he’s using the drug.

And, yes, I think it’s safe to say he planned this whole rampage out just to grab Endeavor’s attention and attack him. But, why? Well, I think the answer is simple: Starservant joined the Paranormal Liberation Army. Or, at least, he’s down with Destro’s ideals. He could see Endeavor as a government stooge holding up the ideals of a restrictive society. We did learn Destro’s ideals are becoming more popular after the (fake) Deika City incident. And with Shigaraki wanting the group to go wild, I can see the PLF supplying its lower-ranked members with Trigger just so they can cause whatever damage they can.

What’s up with Kaminari? [My Hero Academia]

Denki_Kaminari body

Denki Kaminari. Is he the U.A. traitor? Is he working for the League of Villains? Is he working for the Meta Liberation Army? Is it both now because they merged? Let’s talk about where Kaminari’s true allegiances may lie.

First things first, is Kaminari working for the League of Villains? NO. I mostly think this because Hagakure seems like the most likely traitor given her unconfirmed location during the USJ arc, her invisible quirk being the perfect ability for a spy, and her seemingly overall being a character who isn’t overly forward but not super passive either. She does just enough to make herself noticeable while being unnoticeable if you get my drift. Plus, I think she’s way stronger than she lets on (ex. blinding people during the Provisional License Arc) and to me, hiding your true power is a big red flag she’s actively keeping attention off herself.

Denki_mlapose
What not to say watching a kid make the MLA pose.

Okay, so, Kaminari may not be working for the League. But, is he working for the Meta Liberation Army? My answer is YES.

Woah, woah, woah! Hold on fellow My Hero fans! It’s more complicated than you may think. I believe our favorite battery charger is working for the MLA’s ideals, not, I repeat, not feeding them intel on U.A. or any of his classmates in general. Keep in mind that becoming a hero doesn’t conflict with the MLA basic ideology. In fact, it actually helps fulfill it on some level. Think about it, what job in the My Hero Universe allows someone permission to use their quirk on the job in an almost unlimited fashion? A Hero. To someone like Kaminari, becoming a hero could mean having the most freedom in a society built on quirk restriction. Could that be why we’ve seen several heroes revealed as MLA members? Possibly, but we can’t dismiss a hero’s popularity too. If a large number of famous heroes pushed for less quirk restriction the public would listen. It’d be the easiest way of getting the average citizen on your side. Not to mention, the added intel you’d gain from working with the police and government officials. It’s the perfect job for someone who believes in what the MLA stands for.
