What’s Up With Invisible Girl? [My Hero Academia]

Toru_Hagakure_Full_Body_Uniform

I think Toru Hagakure is the traitor.

Yeah, yeah. I know. She’s been a suspect for years now. Even, Viz’s Official English Translator for the series, Caleb Cook, thinks so.

So, let’s dig deeper and dive into the why and the how. If Toru is indeed the U.A. traitor and is working for All For One and Ujiko (I’m hesitant to believe anyone else knows her true identity.), why would those two put so much trust into her? What could All For One had done to force a sweet child like her into betraying her friends? And, did he pick Invisible Girl as a mole because she’s…well, invisible?

I’m gonna answer all of that with two words: Rokuro Nomura. Those of you who read My Hero Vigilantes know where I’m going with this. For the folks that don’t, Rokuro Nomura is Number 6, an artificial human created by Doctor Ujiko. He works for The Villain Factory which is highly implied to be All For One’s organization. Or, more specifically, the group responsible for giving Ujiko valuable data he used to eventually create the Nomu.

We know Nomura is the sixth version of the Number Series and My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising features Nine as the main antagonist of that movie. So, where are the others? That’s right, y’all. I think Toru Hagakure is part of the Number Series, an artificial human.

Lucky Rabbit’s Foot…In Your Face! [My Hero Academia 260]

Daaaaamn! Mirko isn’t messing around! She may be the physically strongest among the Top 10 Heroes. Unless Wash is super jacked inside that washing machine.

MHA_260_003
See, kids? This is what happens when you eat too much gluten.

Oh, Ujiko. You sneaky little bastard. I was so sure you’d never let Twice anywhere near you to make a clone. And, I was right! But, I didn’t count on you replicating his quirk. What a brilliant move! No quirk is safe around Ujiko, y’all. Hm… No quirk is safe? Does that mean he’s replicated the quirks of every LoV member? Like, ALL of them? Well, it’s safe to say he’s got Muscular’s quirk (The Hood High-End somewhat resembles it.) so…yeah. I think he did. You know what this means, right?

Yep, we could be getting High-Ends with several LoV quirks mixed together! Maybe one with Dabi, Toga, and Spinner’s quirks. Or, One with Mr. Compress, Moonfish, and Mustard’s quirks. And, that’s just the beginning. Someone online reminded me of Mr. Compress marbling Overhaul’s arm. Can you imagine a High-End with Overhaul’s quirk backed up with Hyper Regeneration and Super Strength? That’s insane! What about Eri’s quirk? Her DNA is in the erasure bullets. Who needs guns when you can make Nomu breed with her quirk! Oh, my. Oh, my. Thinks are gonna get crazy once those High-Ends get loose!

Invisible Snitches Get Invisible Stitches [My Hero Academia 259]

No, I’m not talking about the Doctor working on Shigaraki. I mean the Invisible Girl AKA Toru Hagakure. Where exactly is she? I don’t see her among any of the heroes spreads.

MHA_259_014-015
We’re here for our flu shots!

Yeah, yeah. She’s invisible. I get it, but so will the heroes after she warns the Paranormal Liberation Front of what the heroes are doing. Yep, it’s a mass takedown of everything PLF. Ujiko, their hotel HQ, even their bases are all get raided at once. But, hey, I’m sure things will go smoothly, unlike last time with the Kamino Arc and All For One. …Damn you, Toru! Don’t fudge this up!

My, my, my, we learned a lot about Doctor Ujiko, didn’t we? Got his real name (Well, it’ll be changed due to a controversy linking his name to horrific WW2 events, but you get what I’m saying), public accomplishments, learned he’s quirkless, and know Shigaraki is “just over a month” away from completion. Hm, quirkless? Sure, he was born quirkless but I wouldn’t be surprised if AFO give him a little something-something in case of emergencies. Basically, don’t count the Doc out yet.

Is That Papa Kaminari? [My Hero Academia 258]

MHA_258_005
Did you take out the trash?
258KaminariDenki
His name’s Mineta, dad.

Check out the lightning bolt hair and eye pupils. If my theory about the Kaminaris being a part of the Liberation Army is true then I can see a member of their family in a high-ranking position like Adviser.

Normally, something like that would be the juiciest part of a chapter but there’s just so much info to cover. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the beginning of the biggest battle to happen in My Hero Academia since the Class A girls caught Mineta rubbing his junk on an old potato chip bag Momo threw away.

I’d like to thank Horikoshi for two important things in this chapter:

One, Why the Liberation Army was so weak back when they first fought the League of Villains in Deika City. And, two, acknowledging a number of people aren’t happy about the merger with the LoV. Finally! Things are making more sense. You can’t just have an evil organization join your sorta evil (Or, at least, fanatic) organization and have everyone be fine with it. THAT little detail will become a problem for Team Shigaraki at some point.

Nana: Warrior Princess [My Hero Academia 257]

MHA_257_005

257wonderwoman
Wowzers! You know you’re buff when Wonder Woman looks lanky compared to you.

Speaking of Nana Shimura, did you notice that symbol on her belt buckle? The one that looks like an upside-down A? It turns out the mathematical symbol can be read as for all. Interesting, right? For All. Could that be Nana’s hero name? And could the All Might codename be Toshinori’s homage to his fallen master? Hm…

And, what’s up with Toshinori wanting to visit Stain? Does he simply want to learn everything the Hero Killer knows about the League or is there something else? Could dear old Stainy’s original desire to become a hero stem from one of the Past Users? …Nah! I don’t think Stain’s that old. All Might’s been a hero for decades, after all. But, could Stain be related to one of the Past Users? Hmm…

Shippa’s Paradise [My Hero Academia 256]

MHA_256_011
♫ As I walk to my laptop to read the latest chap, I take a look at fanfics and realize there’s nothing left. ‘Coz I’ve been pairin’ and carin’ so long that, Even the Tumblr kids think my mind is gone♫

Yes, yes. Lots to shipping fuel this chapter. Deku and Uraraka. Uraraka and Asui. Uraraka and Death Flags. Whoops! Excuse me, not that one. I meant Toshinori and Death Flags. I can’t be the only one who caught that right? Toshinori looking at Deku’s back, acknowledging how much he’s grown, almost like he doesn’t need him anymore. Yeesh, the only way it’d make his upcoming death more obvious is if he decided to retire 3 days after Shigaraki’s scheduled to finish his power-up.

Cloudy with a Chance of Death Flags [My Hero Academia 255]

Alright, Aizawa! You got through to Black Mist! But, at the same time, buddy, I think you just signed Hawks’ death certificate.

255languagefilter
S-H-I-T. Damn that Ujiko for leaving Black Mist’s language filters on.

As I said time and time again, nothing good can come from Hawks looking for the Nomu and Ujiko. Well, yeah, there’s finding out where the Nomu are made and Ujiko’s secret identity but it’ll be a great cost. Basically, Hawks may not be alive much longer y’all. But, hey, we’ve seen heroes dodge death flags before (Looking at you Toshinori and Endeavor.), so it’s not impossible he’ll survive, just less and less likely.

Especially, with Super Shigaraki there too. Hawks would make a tasty fodder for his new powers. So, Hawks, can I have your microwave after you die? What?! I’m just hedging my bets here. I don’t want him to die either.

By the way, (in case you didn’t realize) according to Caleb Cook, that text he got was a code for Hawks telling him Shirakumo said “hospital”.

Where There’s Smoke, There’s Nomu [My Hero Academia 254]

Looking back, I guess Black Mist had to be a nomu. How could a living person eat with a smoky body? On the bright side, he’ll pass every No Nut November.

MHA_254_001
Yo! Behind you! The villains are right behind you!

Still haven’t read My Hero Vigilantes? Then this chapter may not have as much impact as it had on me and other readers of the spin-off. I warned you!

We get confirmation Black Mist is indeed a nomu with Shirakumo as the base body. And, we’re reminded it’s possible a nomu can retain at least some of the personality of that body, if not some memories themselves when it’s revealed Hood-chan the High-End nomu had a similar personality to it’s underground fighter base body. I’ll also add Horikoshi revealing in a volume during the Stain Arc that the flying nomu that picked up Deku was once his childhood friend. So, yeah, Hori’s been seeding that little plot point for a long time!

We get the answer as to why the timeline between My Hero Vigilantes and My Hero Academia seemed out of wack because of all the students Aizawa expelled. Turns out they were all allowed to re-enroll since Aizawa uses the ploy as a way to teach kids their student record doesn’t really matter in the end (It’s all about college exams and volunteer work, kiddies.). Oh, and it also gives them a “death” to further their growth. Basically, he lights a fire under their butts to get them motivated. Something he’s done several times already with the current Class 1-A.

Shirakumo? Why’s That the Chapter Ti— Holy Crap! [My Hero Academia 253]

253lastpage
You know what’s really sad about this page? Some people still think My Hero Vigilantes isn’t canon.

What in the name of all things cherry-flavored happened? How? HOW!!! How in the world is Black Mist actually Oboro Shirakumo?

253timeup
And 3 months until Shigaraki dusts Japan but, hey, I’m sure that won’t ruin your Mario Maker graduation party.

We’re jumping right into it, y’all. Black Mist is a Nomu. A sophisticated Nomu but still overall a puppet of the League of Villains. His quirk, Warp Gate, is an amalgamation of several quirks, including Shirakumo’s Cloud quirk. Not only that, Cloud is the base factor. What’s a base factor? I’m assuming it’s the main ingredient. It could even mean Black Mist’s body is Shirakumo’s!

Right off the bat, I’m gonna assume Black Mist has Shirakumo’s body. It’s more dramatic that way. My next issue is what the hell did Ujiko do? Shirakumo was dead. Very dead. See…

253deadshirakumo

I’m sure the police and paramedics confirmed it. So, either Ujiko somehow revived him or that body under the sheet isn’t Shirakumo and AFO’s got some first responder goons working for him. Look, it’s not impossible. I’m sure AFO, being the vulture he is, would set up a way for him to give Ujiko access to any fallen heroes or heroes in training. But, for now, I’ll assume that the body is the real Loud Cloud. Or, a Loud Cloud. Ujiko does know how to create artificial humans (Read My Hero Vigilantes, you slobs!), after all. Maybe he put Shirakumo’s DNA in some pancake batter and created an artificial copy. For all we know, that could be how all the Number Series humans are created!

Problems At Home? Just Build Another One. [My Hero Academia 252]

Hey, you can’t have family issues if you’re not living with your family, right?

MHA_252_001
Leave Endeavor alone! You can’t blame him. Fuyumi’s garlic bread is to die for.

And so, the day is saved thanks to the Powerpuff Boys. Ending has been captured by Shoto and Natsuo now forgives his father for all the pain he caused him, his siblings, and his mother. At least, that what a good chunk of fans thought would happen. *tsk* tsk* *tsk* When will you fans learn that Endeavor’s road to forgiveness is a long one. It’s happening bit by bit, y’all. There isn’t gonna be an instant fix to the Todoroki Family. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Okay, I may be wrong on this, but I think Endeavor’s reasoning for not saving Natsuo was him thinking Natsuo would feel obligated to forgive him if saved by Daddy Furnace. Anyway, Natsuo is already feeling bad about not forgiving his dad because it seems everyone else is trying to. Dude, just ask for money. Make Papa Flame buy your happiness. I mean, he’s already paying for you to go to college. I bet your lazy privileged butt never worked a day in your rich-kid life! Whoops! Sorry, I just got off work and maybe I’m being a teensy bit bitter. Sorry, Nat-Dog.

The Chauffeur thinks Endeavor is deliberately being targetted and I have to agree. Someone in the PLF wants Endeavor out of the picture. No doubt wanting Hawks to be the new Number One Hero. It’s probably Re-Destro. He’s a big-picture guy after all.
