One Piece Toilet Paper #2 Best Selling Item Of 2024 [2D News]

One Piece, the popular manga and anime, sells all sorts of merchandise from figurines to sunglasses to school supplies. Surprisingly, the second most popular One Piece merchandise—One Piece t-shirts are the number one best selling product—aren’t posters, toys, or school supplies, but the official One Piece toilet paper.

For those who don’t know, last year One Piece debuted a line of Villain Rolls for fans to express their hated for certain One Piece baddies by giving them the skid mark special, so to speak. Those unfortunate characters with their faces on toilet paper sheets include Buggy the Clown, Wet-Haired Caribou, Jack the Drought, and Arlong the Saw. This year, Rob Lucci, Hordy Jones, and Saint Charlos were added to the popular brand for the sole purpose of being crapped on with future plans for Blackbeard, Sir Crocodile, and Magellan (More of an antagonist than a villain but we get where they’re going with this choice.) to receive their own tissue rolls for “fans” to give them the ultimate mud pie salute.

With demand so high, it was only a matter of time before a new set would be announced. Rival Rolls will be, well, rolling into stores sometime this summer. This set will feature rival characters One Piece fans constantly pit against each other such as Zoro, Sanji, Dracule Mihawk, and “Red-Haired” Shanks.

One Sanji superfan already has plans to camp out at the One Piece Mugiwara Store in Tokyo, Japan the night before release day and has already began eating a diet consisting mostly of artichokes, prunes, and various bean casseroles stating “Instead of a black blade, Zoro’s getting the brown blade he deserves.” He further added, “Yes, I do have a girlfriend.” When pressed for more information, the Sanji fanboy wouldn’t give us her name or any other proof she exists.

Disney Fighting Game Begins Alpha Stage Testing [2D News]

A lucky few will soon begin play testing a Disney game no one imagined would ever be made. Arc System Works—the Japanese video game development company behind many popular fighting games such as Dragon Ball Fighterz and Guilty Gear Xrd—are in the process of sending invite keys to its official Disney 2.5D fighting game.

While not much is known about the game (labeled Project Tinkerbell until an official name is released) other than it supposedly being a 3v3 fighting game, a leaker on a popular fighting game forum confirmed six playable characters in the alpha test build: The Beast (Beauty and the Beast), Cruella De Vil (One Hundred and One Dalmatians), Peter Pan (Peter Pan), Snow White (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs), Baloo (The Jungle Book), and Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland).

That same leaker also revealed the names of other characters in Project Tinkerbell’s roster including Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), Merlin (The Sword in the Stone), Rabbit (Winnie the Pooh), and Dopey (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs).

When asked about the rumored roster, including hopefully adding fan favorites such as Ursula the sea witch (The Little Mermaid) and Bruno Madrigal (Encanto), a Disney representative regretfully commented, “We don’t talk about Bruno.”

The Great Escape [One Piece 1112]

Five old men, one admiral, and a ton of fodder are determined to keep the Straw Hat Crew from escaping. Welcome to One Piece, Chapter 1112. But first, a message from our sponsor.

We get what I believe is our first look inside Punk Records. The transmission transponder snail broadcasting the worldwide message is inside… along with something else. With only one minute until Dr. Vegapunk snitches on the World Government—what could St. Mars be looking at? Well, I’m assuming that something is gonna prevent him from destroying the snail. Maybe another Vegapunk Satellite about the hatch from its tank? But, if so, how could they keep Mars from destroying the snail? Hmm…

We know all of the Straw Hats are making it out, but what about their allies? Stussy stayed behind to lower the Frontier Dome at the right moment to allow the others in Labophase to escape. Is she doomed? Well, if she has the strength to fly off the island with her bat powers, then no. But that’s also assuming she can do it undetected. Hope your life insurance is paid, Stussy.

YouTube reaction video channels are all the rage these days. So, it was only a matter of time before certain companies began catering their businesses towards their creators. Websites offering online classes, such as Masterclass and Skillshare, now have online acting courses specifically targeted toward those aiming to be the biggest reactors on social media.

These crying reaction classes give YouTubers various invaluable lessons on: looking sad and distraught, when to start repeating the word No, and the optimal time to dab your eyes with tissues after fanning them with your hands in an “effort” not to cry.

Taylor Swift x One Piece Collaboration Project Announced [2D News]

Miss Americana herself, Taylor Swift, is teaming up with the equally popular Japanese series One Piece for a special anime episode.

Toei Animation, the anime company adapting the manga series every week, has been in talks with the famous singer/songwriter for years for some sort of joint partnership. Fans of the pop superstar have even speculated Uta—a singer created for the movie, One Piece Film: Red—was based off Tay Tay herself.

Details have been sparse but comments from Toei suggest the anime special takes place in the world of One Piece on an island rumored to contain a valuable treasure. There, the infamous Straw Hat Pirates—lead by their captain, Monkey D. Luffy—will team-up with Taylor and her Swifties Pirate Gang to find the treasure rumored to make anyone who possesses it as world-famous as the Pirate King.

Taylor herself commented outside a New York City restaurant on the project saying “I love one piece swimsuits! Huh? Anime? What’s that?”

The episode is expected to air sometime next year.
