Wakfu: The Animated Series [Season 4 Episode 6 Review]

The Necros want a quick meal. But what happens when fast food fights back?

The World of Twelve isn’t taking the Necros invasion lightly. At least the main characters aren’t. Most of the planet doesn’t yet know how screwed they are. But no worries! Yugo and Amalia are on the job!

Most of the episode is focused on them and the Eliatropes trying to stop the invasion. Yugo and Amalia make a great team. The two were able to hold off hundreds of Necros for a few minutes without directly using wakfu. Not bad. Commence appreciative yet slightly sarcastic slow clapping.

You’re supposed to have one more sword in your mouth.

Fortunately, Nora, Qilby and some background Eliatropes decided to lend them a hand (one in Qilby’s case), forcing the Necros attacking Sadidia Kingdom to retreat. Well…actually, a mysterious Necros hiding in the shadows called off the attack. I wonder who this person could—Efrim.

There’s no point in dragging it out. We know Nora’s dragon twin brother fell while saving the Eliatrope Goddess. We learned in this episode a being drained by Necros become a Necros. 1+1=Zombie Efrim. Awkward family reunion incoming.

Loki: Season 3 [One Piece 1130]

Why is Loki so hot?!

And not just him. Both Gerd and Goldberg are good looking too. Gerd’s rockin’ your standard cute but organ-less Oda woman body-type while Goldberg’s happy-go-lucky attitude would make anyone want to give that hunk of chunk a squeeze.

With that out of the way, let’s talk about Princess Vivi’s message to the crew. You know? The “X” on Gear Five Luffy’s arm? Quite the coincidence the Straw Hats who would recognize and understand the significance of that mark aren’t there to see it, huh? Oh, well, it’s just to let the Straw Hats know Vivi’s alive and well. We probably won’t see the other Straw Hat crew members’ reaction to it until much later.

…Unless, Vivi reunites with them on Elbaph.

So horny. The hat I mean! Not me. Definitely…not me.

Sonic x Shadow Generations [Hands-Off Review]

I’m so excited for this one, folks!

While I wasn’t much of a Shadow the Hedgehog fan, Sega recently released an animated prologue to the game and gee willikers is it awesome!

Did you see that? Shadow being all serious, then all sad, then all angry. And the fighty-fight fights! Wow! Oh, Rouge. You’re so sassy! You’re my favorite flying rat ever. Sorry, Ray.

This is the one. The one game I MUST play. I have to know what happens between Shadow and Maria Robotnik. Do they reunite due to time-travel shenanigans? Is the timeline forever changed to include Maria or at least a time displaced version of her? Will Shadow get to say goodbye to his friend if this truly is the end? I must have answers. Time to order Sonic x Shadow Generations!

…But what if the ending sucks?

Hunter x Hunter Fans Demand Series Goes Back On Hiatus [2D News]

Hunter x Hunter, one of the most popular Shonen manga of all time, which debuted in 1998, has returned to weekly publication after yet another hiatus.

While the return has younger and casual fans excited and eager to enjoy the series again, many long-time fans are outraged at the supposing “good” news. Here are some comments posted on various social media sites from die-hard Hunter x Hunter fans:

“Now? Who has time to read when I’m busy picking up my kids from school and daycare?”

“Sure, I had plenty free time when the series started as a kid. But I’m in college now. Exams are coming up fast. Why now, Togashi-sama?!”

“The (American) presidential election is only weeks away. I’m too stressed to read about a royal family at war when my own family’s going at it 24/7!”

“I was on my first marriage when the series began. My current third wife hates manga. She won’t allow it in the house. Guess, it’s time for another divorce.”

Most old-timer fans have taken to social media, pleading to Yoshihiro Togashi-sensei—the creator of Hunter x Hunter—if he would hold back releasing new chapters until after the winter holidays.

In response, Togashi has decided to petition other manga authors to halt their series instead, leaving more time for manga fans to read his series once again. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has already taken Togashi’s advice and paused his series for at least two weeks. Rumors suggest other Shonen Jump authors will soon follow.

Wakfu: The Animated Series [Season 4 Episode 5 Review]

Invasion of the Wakfu Snachers!

What I love about this episode is watching both world-wide and interpersonal drama jamming together in dub-step harmony.

For example, the episode was almost bookmarked by the invading Cape Necros—first with their appearance in the World of Twelve and last with the group summoning a giant monster. But then, at the very end, we’re shown a quick shot of Yugo traveling to the Sadida Kingdom in order to help Amalia, defying his mother’s request to abandon this world. The main plot is slowly affecting our main characters in a natural and interesting way.

I talked about the beginning and end. Now, let’s get into the middle/meat/vegan alternate option part of the episode.

Armant and Amalia return to Sadidia after the World Leaders meeting. Armant, of course, is being a prick—concluding that the Eliatrope Goddess is a threat while also trying to gaslight Amalia into thinking she’s blinded by her feelings for Yugo because she doesn’t agree with him. What a royal pain in the tofu bird Az!

P. Necros be wanting to party, and you gotta tell them no.

Thank you very much. Thank you! Thank you! I’m, of course, am a big One Piece fan. Huge. I know everything there is to know about One Piece. I write it on occasion. Love it.

Okay, so, the Straw Hats are escaping from the Lego Country to Elbaph by grabbing on a giant pussy. I’m an expert on that, very much. Fortunately, the Sun God built a wall around the Lego Country to keep the pirates and rapists out of Elbaph. Yes, very good.

Can you imagine your child goes to ninja school and they don’t even call you and they change the sex of your child.

Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero [Hands-Off Review]

The best Dragon Ball fighting game since the last one!

Just look at those amazing graphics and impressive gameplay. There’s even a story mode with What If scenarios. As a long time Dragon Ball fan who’s only played Dragon Ball Fighterz for five minutes during a free trail, I’m so excited to one-day play this game for at least an hour before deleting it out of frustration over losing every online match to fighting game experts with months of gameplay experience and high cholesterol under their belt.

At least I was until I found one glaring problem with this otherwise fantastic game:

Where are all the characters?!

Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero currently hosts a measly 182 character roster. Are you kidding me? Where’s Super 17 from Dragon Ball GT? The Farmer from the first episode of Dragon Ball Z? Mr. Popo? Jaco? Android 8? Dende? Grand Elder Guru? Gine? Dr. Briefs? How could Bandai Namco forget about them?!

Also, why are there so few Goku alternate characters? Where’s Heart Disease Goku and Recovering In Medical Pod On Namek Goku? What about Pink Shirt Vegeta, Baseball Star Yamcha, Cell Egg, Mildly Depressed Tien, and Pregnant Videl? They’re all nowhere to be found. What the hell’s going on here?!

And you can just forget about playing as a guest character. No Arale from Dr. Slump, Beelzebub from Sand Land, Mihawk from One Piece, or Sailor Uranus from Sailor Moon. Ghostface from the Scream franchise was such an obvious pick I’m flabbergasted he still hasn’t been announced at the time of this review. Even freakin’ Superman from DC Comics is nowhere to be seen.

I can only hope these characters and more will become available in future DLC. Although, it’s a shame another video game developer has potentially gatekept hundreds of fan-favorite characters just to make an extra buck.

Shame on you, Bandai Namco. Grow some dragon balls and stop giving in to corporate greed.

Adventures In Legoland [One Piece 1128]

The ASPCA isn’t gonna like this chapter.

And neither do I.

Full disclosure: I liked the beginning of the Egghead Arc. And despite my overall feelings, I liked Wano and Dressrosa’s first chapters too. As far as I can remember, there hasn’t been a new One Piece arc I didn’t enjoy at the beginning (The “beginning” as I define it is the first three to five chapters).

Unfortunately, I’m just not vibing with Elbaph’s story right now. I care little about the current mystery and most of the Straw Hat’s interactions aren’t doing it for me. Right now, I’m just waiting for everything to be explained and for the prominent Elbaph characters to be introduced so we can move on to this arc’s main conflict.

So…are we just gonna pretend the Straw Hats never fought giant characters before? Oars? Who’s that?

Do I Know You? [Jujutsu Kaisen 271]

It took awhile, but I’ve finally found a new manga series to review!

With My Hero Academia gone I had to be careful to find a series that was both interesting and has long-lasting potential. I’ve never read this series before, but I know it’s popular and think it’d be fun to just jump into it cold. Here we go! My first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen!

I gotta say, it’s a good chapter, even if I don’t know what’s going on. Not surprising since it’s 271 chapters in so far. I like the comradery between Itadori, Kugisaki, and Fushiguro. They seems like good friends/co-workers. Not to mention, Kugisaki’s a cutie. She’s a girl, right? Hard to tell with the art. Oh, well. Call me!

“And gifted you two Twitch subscriptions!!”

I love the down-to-Earth situation the main characters (they’re the main characters, right?) are getting into. It’s cool seeing them use their…powers(?) to help people. I guess they have powers. Fushiguro summoned that giant wolf. Either that or he’s a Pokémon trainer.
