Because you’re getting a flashback within a flashback. A three-minute explanation? Yeah, right.
You know… Thanks to One Piece Live Action, I miss the simpler arcs of One Piece. Where arcs didn’t have the main duty of expositing world and character lore while constantly setting up the final war arc of the series.
Weird, right? I’m all about the One Piece lore, yet here I am complaining about it. But I don’t hate it, not at all! I just want more of the fun stuff that made me fall in love with One Piece too. The Straw Hats interacting with each other, the zany villains, the feeling of a grand adventure instead of constant melodrama p0rn. This is a different manga than what began.
Here we are at the flashback portion of the arc and I’m just going through the motions. Sure, I’m excited about the coming lore dumps, but then it’s back to Basic Bro Imu the Evil and his boring henchmen. The only thing interesting about Imu is the mystery boxes surrounding him. I need more than that for a character to interest me.
Sorry for the rant*. Back to the chapter review.

The mystery behind what happened surrounding Loki and the death of King Harald. The mystery of Harald’s true intentions for Elbaph. The mystery of Imu and the Celestial Dragon’s involvement in Harald’s death (You just know Imu turning people evil will come into play somehow in the flashback).
The mystery of what Shanks was doing after Roger’s death (Looks like he went to Marijoa to be with his “people”. Maybe even joined the Holy Knights for a hot minute). The mystery of whether or not Sanji has supreme king haki (He probably does; Oda’s just building up towards it).
The mystery of what is the Treasure of Elbaph (It’s a devil fruit and Shanks and Imu are involved. Probably the God Nika Fruit).
Well, at least there’s a chance we’ll see Brook in the flashback at some point. Now’s a good a time as any to confirm his origin.
This was a decent chapter! Could’ve did without all of the setup and just started with teen King Harald but… I’m trying to think of something positive here. Hmm… It was a chapter of One Piece! There. See? I’m always looking on the bright side of things. For example, One Piece Live Action season two is only a year away! One… Year… No, no, no! I’m not crying! *SNIFF!* WHAAAA!
