It’s the skeleton guy who turns out to be a DEADbeat dad. Should’ve seen that coming.
Brook was a Celestial Dragon?! Gunko’s his daughter?! What the heck’s going on here? Well, besides Oda giving us an entry into the Celestial Dragon’s backstory. Honestly, I’ve never thought about Brook’s pre-pirate life. I just assumed he was from the same Blue as his previous pirate captain, Yorki. Sorry, Usopp fan(s), your bud’s arc just got hijacked by the Soul King.
Maybe I should’ve seen something like this happening. Gunko’s a woman. And we all know by now Oda goes light on women fighting seriously. And that’s on the small occasions when they do. Nami and Robin’s too weak to pull off a believable win against Gunko, so instead we get a possible redemption arc for our no pants faux god.
Not only can King Imu communicate with those who (I assume) he lent his immortality power to, but he can control their bodies when necessary. There’s no leaving Imu’s Gang. You get in, you in for life!
We knew there’s trouble brewing at Marijoa, but it seems like it’s gotten worse. Are the Revolutionaries attacking already?
Hmm… I’m not sure Dragon &Friends had enough time to come up with a good plan AND travel to Marijoa. Yeah, it’s possible, but Elbaph was said not to be too far from Egghead Island. I just don’t see Dragon going all out so fast. Especially, when he knows how dangerous attacking Marijoa is with Marine HQ nearby.
Double hmm… Maybe it’s simply one-part of Dragon’s assault. But, Imu basically said he needs all hand on-deck over there. You don’t need all the Holy Knights at a burning Marijoa unless all Hell’s broken loose. I don’t know, Y’all. It just seems a bit too early for the Revolutionaries to do this. There has to be more to what’s happening.
…!!!!
The Blackbeard Pirates! Maybe they’re attacking Marijoa! They did need to steal Saturn’s form for something. Alright! My money’s on them causing havoc in the Holyland.
Scopper Gaban’s injured and falling to The Underworld. Guess it’s up to the Monster Trio to save the day. Too bad. I really wanted to see the other members of the Straw Hats showing off their skills. It just confirms the Holy Knights are truly above everyone’s pay grade except for our strongest three Straw Hat Pirates. …And Jimbe on a good day.
Um, somebody should put out those fires at the school and library. Franky? Dr. Vegapunk? Todoroki? Somebody do something!
This was a good chapter! Scooper Gaban taking a L was expected (No one steals Luffy’s spotlight!), but I’ll give points to Oda using him as a means of the Straw Hats learning how to defeat the Holy Knights. Plus, the reveal Brook’s most likely a Celestial Dragon has me quite intrigued. Hell, let’s make Nami a CD too while we’re at it. Franky as well. Move over Avengers. Celestial Dragons: Civil War is on the way!
