Invasion of the Wakfu Snachers!
What I love about this episode is watching both world-wide and interpersonal drama jamming together in dub-step harmony.
For example, the episode was almost bookmarked by the invading Cape Necros—first with their appearance in the World of Twelve and last with the group summoning a giant monster. But then, at the very end, we’re shown a quick shot of Yugo traveling to the Sadida Kingdom in order to help Amalia, defying his mother’s request to abandon this world. The main plot is slowly affecting our main characters in a natural and interesting way.
I talked about the beginning and end. Now, let’s get into the middle/meat/vegan alternate option part of the episode.
Armant and Amalia return to Sadidia after the World Leaders meeting. Armant, of course, is being a prick—concluding that the Eliatrope Goddess is a threat while also trying to gaslight Amalia into thinking she’s blinded by her feelings for Yugo because she doesn’t agree with him. What a royal pain in the tofu bird Az!
Speaking of royal, Arm & Am receive news Sadida’s royal orchard was attacked back in the last episode. Why’d the Necros leave after feasting on the trees? I guess they went back home and took a nap. After a big meal you just wanna sleep, you know.
Yugo visits his Mary Poppins dad, Alibert, at their home/inn, unloading all the family drama that recently happened. Alibert is able to calm his son down, reminding him everything and everyone won’t always go your way/agree with you and not to stress out over it. I really love this scene between the two of them. They have such a close relationship. And it’s always nice having a person to talk to with sage advice who won’t sell your personal information to the highest bidder. Right, BetterHelp?
Time for an action scene! Yugo’s village is attacked by Beefcake Necros. And let me just say that I love seeing the various kinds of Necros. We have the Cape Necros—who I believe are magic users, the standard version who attacked Sadida, and then these buff Necros. Anyway, the sexy Necros attack and Yugo loses but is saved by his siblings, Qilby and Nora.
After the fight, Nora breaks the Necros news to the Eliatrope Goddess whose PTSD goes into full effect. That’s right, kids. The Necros were indeed the ones who had captured E.G. but she was at some point saved by Nora and…Efrim. Efrim is Nora’s dragon twin, but where is he now? Is he dead? Probably not because it looks like we may have seen him in this episode. And that’s not a good thing!
Well, the E.G. naturally freaks out and wants to immediately abandon the World of Twelve and begins making preparations to get the heck out. Maybe they can move to Thundera or Cybertron? I hear Soul Society is lovely this time of year.
We then cut to Ruel who—just kidding! There’s no Ruel subplot this episode. Thank you, Ankama!
It’s Percedal Family time!
Madagasken, the blind assassin, arrives at Casa De Percedal demanding Percedal abandons his family. Turns out ole Madagasken is Eva’s father! I guess he figures Percedal’s crazy life is too hectic to raise a family in. Eva’s reaction is interesting because she doesn’t say a word. She simply walks back into the house. Dra-ma!
See what I mean? The main plot is revving up as the character drama unfolds. It’s two great tastes that taste great together. Great episode, Y’all!
This weeks Wakfu Award goes to Madagasken for meeting his son-in-law just to tell him to leave his family. Percedal is a god. His kids are demigods. And his wife is one of the most skillful Cras on the planet. They’ll be fine, you old fuddy-duddy. …At least, I hope. This may be Wakfu’s final season, after all. Someone living at the Percedal homestead could die. Let’s all just hope it’s Poo.
