It took awhile, but I’ve finally found a new manga series to review!
With My Hero Academia gone I had to be careful to find a series that was both interesting and has long-lasting potential. I’ve never read this series before, but I know it’s popular and think it’d be fun to just jump into it cold. Here we go! My first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen!
I gotta say, it’s a good chapter, even if I don’t know what’s going on. Not surprising since it’s 271 chapters in so far. I like the comradery between Itadori, Kugisaki, and Fushiguro. They seems like good friends/co-workers. Not to mention, Kugisaki’s a cutie. She’s a girl, right? Hard to tell with the art. Oh, well. Call me!
I love the down-to-Earth situation the main characters (they’re the main characters, right?) are getting into. It’s cool seeing them use their…powers(?) to help people. I guess they have powers. Fushiguro summoned that giant wolf. Either that or he’s a Pokémon trainer.
That heartfelt moment between Itadori and the stalker was nice. I liked Itadori offering him a job after he pays his debt to society. Not sure how face-changing powers will help others but maybe Stalker Guy can be in charge of getting lunch and using the copy machine. You can do it, guy!
…Um, who the hell is Gojo-sensei?
This Kusakabe person sounds cool. I can’t wait to see him/her in action at some point. I bet their arc is awesome!
Oh, more interesting characters. Why are they talking in a void? Or did they forget to pay their electric bill? Anyway, Shirtless Dude and Sukuna have a talk. I don’t understand what’s going on, but I think Sukuna was a villain, but he lost a fight and now wants to get laid. Good for you, buddy!
We end the chapter on what I assume is a hint for the next arc: The Middle Finger Arc. I can’t wait to see where that finger’s going. I’ve read Naruto. Itadori and his friends better watch their backs—erm—butts.
This was a good chapter! While I didn’t understand everything that’s happening, I enjoyed the characters and story and can’t wait to read more. I wonder what Itadori’s cursed powers can do? I bet it’s lasers or something. OOOH! I can’t wait for the next chapter! Jujutsu Kaisen forever, baby!
