Saturnday Night Live [One Piece 1125]

You know what? I’m starting to think King Imu doesn’t like Joy Boy.

That Joy Boy haki blast sealed Saint Saturn’s fate. Imu didn’t like that one bit. I guess it triggered some serious PTSD from a previous encounter with the original J.B. Notice how Imu blamed Saturn for “Joy Boy’s” escape, not Luffy. Oh, boy! Imu has a button you should never press and Joy Boy is it. Could Imu’s desire to destroy Gear 5 Luffy lead him to making huge mistakes that’ll cost him everything? I’d say yes.

Jaygarcia Saturn is dead. Very dead. Super duper dead. There’s a clear link to the Five Elder’s power and Imu. They serve him well—everything’s good in the Mary Geoise hood. They screw-up? It’s a free trip to the Shadow Realm. A gruesome trip too. I know he’s evil, but I really felt bad for St. Satur— Hahahaha! Oh, man. I just couldn’t hold it. Yeah, that bastard deserved it.

Yeah, right. The only thing you murdered was Stussy’s va-jay-jay at last year’s Cipher Pol holiday party.

In another surprising twist, Saint Figarland Garling is promoted to the Five Elders as Godhead of Science & Defense. What will that mean for the story going forward? I’m not sure, but Garling strikes me as a guy more than willing to do any and everything to accomplish his job. With York at his disposable, the One Piece world just got a lot darker.

So, um, Edison didn’t die? I’m assuming he held on long enough to float up to Punk Records and repair himself. That would explain why he’s the only Vegapunk Satellite with a body besides Lilith. In any case, I don’t see Team Edison acting much on their own going forward. They’ll probably advise Lilith and help her with whatever she’s planning on doing next.

The chapter ends with some Revolutionary hype. Yay…I guess. It’s now or never for this organization. The world—more than ever—needs to get rid of the Celestial Dragons. The question is: How are they gonna do it AND keep everyone else for destroying each other looking to stay safe in a world that’s sinking into the sea? The Revolutionary Army were always endgame characters. Oda’s about to show us exactly why they’re in the story. I just hope it’s gonna be worth the wait.

Don’t blame me. I voted for Bernie Sanders.

This was a great chapter! Imu showing cracks in his Big Bad armor, Saturn’s “retirement”, Garling joining the Five Elders, the Revolutionary Army making plans for the endgame—the big powers of the world are bracing themselves for the chaos that’s about to break loose.

Wait a minute! Is Blackbeard’s plan to have Catarina Devon impersonate Saint Saturn still viable? …Eh, sure. It’s not like the World Government’s gonna broadcast Saturn’s death to the world. To everyone else, he really did retire. Blackbeard’s ultimate plan to receive endless senior discounts is a go!
