Let’s pour out a little oil for our robot homie.
Emet, the (not so) little robot that could. And he did—save Team Straw Hat, that is. But I don’t think anyone could guess he’d do it by unleashing Joy Boy’s haki. I wonder if Joy Boy specifically thought King Imu would be the one causing problems for his robotic friend in the future? Emet should be strong enough to take on just about any threat. Storing haki inside his buddy, Joy Boy probably thought Emet’s opponent would be a living being(s) too powerful or immune to standard weapons. Hmm… I’m really curious when Joy Boy and Emet had that conversation. My guess it’s near the end of their adventures together or even the last time they spoke.
Joy Boy’s haki (I presume) caused the Elders to retreat. Was it them specifically affected or was it King Imu? Are the Elders and King Imu linked in some way? Do the Elders even have devil fruits or does their power come directly from Imu? Hmm… That would help explain their immortality and invulnerability. So, if Imu goes down, the Five Elders go down with him. Interesting, if true.

So why wasn’t Saint Saturn sent back to Mary Geoise? Perhaps his title of being the Warrior God of Science and Defense has something to do with it? Is there history between Saturn and Emet? Did Saturn have a hand in building Emet? Geez! This chapter raised more questions than answers!
And don’t expect any more answers from Dr. Vegapunk on account of (1) the transmission has finally been stopped and (2) ole Stella is still dead. I wonder how many more chapters will it take until someone realizes the real Dr. Vegapunk isn’t talking, or moving, or breathing. Sanji, you dumbass.
Interesting scene with Koby committing himself to stopping Luffy from reaching the One Piece. Oda seems to be setting up one final confrontation between the two. But, when? And where? I’m getting another hmm feeling. Could their confrontation take place on Laugh Tale? Maybe Koby VS Luffy is a warm-up/first round type of battle before Luffy moves on to Blackbeard or whoever? I’m starting to think Laugh Tale’s secret location is gonna be leaked to all the big players around the same time, leading to an all-out brawl for the One Piece on Laugh Tale. Heck, it’s the only way Buggy’s getting there.
Caribou’s gonna meet with Blackbeard. I know, I’m shocked too. Sorry, I forgot to alert you with my sarcasm alarm®. No one’s surprised by that. Looks like Blackbeard’s getting Pluton just in time to sail it to Laugh Tale. Bet he’ll love that new ancient ship smell.

This was a good chapter! Team Straw Hats are finally escaping Egghead Island—for real this time. The climax seems to be over with hopefully less than a handful of chapters before the book is closed on the Egghead Arc. Heh. Joy Boy. This overpowered mofo has insane haki, has the power to hear the voice of all things, and is probably a D. and a buccaneer. What can’t this guy do? Make a grilled cheese sandwich, that’s what. Not a good one anyway. Next time use that voice of all things to hear how much butter to melt in the pan, dude.
