A Helping Hand [My Hero Academia 429]

Never underestimate the power of kindness.

It’s not just something awful happening. It’s the feeling no one else cares what you’re going through that also hurts. Being alone when the going gets tough is something I wouldn’t wish on almost anyone. Looking at you, Bluegeek.

Which brings me to Ochaco Uraraka and the Mysterious Boy. Both of them going through a difficult time. Both of them in need of someone who cares. I’ve come down on Horikoshi at times, but I absolutely praise the man for not only showing his characters saving the world but wanting to improve society itself.

They can finally catch up on watching The Bear and House of the Dragon.

Uraraka got bogged down by thoughts of the world passing Himiko Toga by, and therefore, wouldn’t care about her feelings about the dead villain. Mystery Boy was about to lash out at a world he thought passed him by as he suffered alone for years. Just the sheer act of empathy from Class 2-A and the Old Lady changed their lives forever. Will empathy prevent all future crime and sadness? No. But it will lessen it to a degree, and in turn, make the world a better place to live in.

Happy 10th Anniversary! Here’s to many mor— Oh! Um… yeah…

It’s insane how much I love the Mysterious Boy being stopped—not by a punch to the face—but by an act of kindness. This is what their world and our world needs more of. In fact, I’m gonna go on a rant about that right now:

Ah! I feel much better! Sorry, but I needed to get that out.

Hawks altering the Hero Billboard Chart to include people who aren’t professional heroes is a great idea. It’s promoting empathy. Promoting positive proactive behavior. Instead of leaving everything on pro heroes, the charts will constantly remind everyone that a good society requires ALL who live in it contribute to its success. WE are here because WE are all heroes!

Oh. And I hope the Mysterious Boy’s family are dead or put in prison. F*ck ’em!

Eri comes out hard with a Kota Izumi diss track called Wet Behind The Ears.
…Huh? Are All Might’s eyes returning to “normal”? Hmm…

This was a good chapter! It gave me exactly what I wanted: To learn what steps are being taken to ensure the world never has to suffer another Tomura Shigaraki. This is my favorite of the post-war chapters by far. And with only one more chapter of My Hero Academia to go, we’ll see if this can be topped.

You know. Instead ending things on a silly note, I’d like to thank everyone for joining me on this My Hero Academia ride. First, I’d like to mention my dear followers:

There’s the Deku/Uraraka thing that I mentioned in your post about the final chapter: How it’s KIND OF mischaracterization of Deku making the situation about his feelings instead of talking to Uraraka about it. But ignoring that: I see what you mean.
I didn’t think about the parallels between Uraraka and Mystery kid- that’s a nice detail on Horikoshi’s part. One last MHA Parallel before we close the story.
I like how society is going to change in response to what Deku did, but……….. it’s never that simple. With All For One out of the picture, there’s a “Big Bad Power Vacuum” that needs filling, now isn’t there? And sadly I doubt that Mystery Kid is the ONLY Tomura Shigaraki candidate out there in the world(the fact that his situation even exists implies that this is a recurring problem). But I’m glad the old lady learned from her mistake. Because this entire series could have been avoided if she had taken Tenko’s hand. The ONE MOMENT- one little change somewhere down the line- and All For One’s plans would have been foiled. Though that likely means this kid would have just died in that basement. I wonder if anyone’s ever made a discussion talking about the role of “Fate” in this series. I WANT to do stuff like that, but there’s a lot going on in my life right now. Maybe one day………………

I don’t think the My Hero world will ever be without crime. Even with All Might was around, stuff happened, just not as much and/or it was well hidden. I think the point is lessening the chance of society creating criminals due to apathy.

The more I think about it, the more I respect Horikoshi for going down the route of WHY and not just see-bad-guy-punch-bad-guy. I may not agree with how it was all executed but at least he tried.
