Previously, on My Hero Academia.
Deku lost the Phoenix Force—erm—One For All and every available hero in the country began assembling to defeat All For One once and for all.
In this chapter, we learn the One For All quirk is still gone. Looks like Eri hadn’t stored up enough energy to bring it back. Rogue’s But, just like with All Might, embers of the overpowered quirk still reside inside Deku. Good on you, Horikoshi. I hadn’t thought of that. In a way, it’s similar to All Might and AFO’s Kamino fight in which the other heroes helped out where they could, but ultimately, it was All Might who delivered the final blow.
With no civilians in the area, all the heroes can focus solely on jumping AFO. That’s how they do it in Japan, mofos! Still, it’s clear the heroes are in need of Deku and good tactics like Space Hero: Thirteen distracting AFO with her Black Hole (You heard me.) long enough for other heroes to attack. Give me more of that please, Horikoshi, mein Freund.
The international heroes. Will they arrive to help? Star And Stripe can’t be the only hero to travel to Japan to lend a hand. Yes, AFO’s allies are causing trouble around the world to keep them busy, but I’m hoping that was just to save them for this final battle. I know. I know. I’m just saying all of this because I want to see Skycrawler (from My Hero Vigilantes) make an appearance. But, it’s so strange that he hasn’t gotten a cameo. Horikoshi has to be saving him for something.
Or, someone? Hmm… My Hero Vigilantes had to stop when the timeline hit My Hero Academia as not to interfere with the ongoing main series. What if… the characters of MHV are being saved for a new series that takes place during and after My Hero Academia? Hey! Who are you calling delusional, bub?!
This was a good chapter! I’m a sucker for characters teaming up and this is the ultimate My Hero team-up. I may have given up on the plot but I’m all in for the art and action. Give it to me, Horikoshi, sugah.
I’ll give it to you!
Bluegeek? My evil clone and father of my genetic child sent to the future? You’re back! Listen. Can I borrow $20?

The international Heroes showing up is still on the table, but I feel like something like that would be saved for a “Turning Point.” And this arc- and the previous war- were FILLED with “Turning Points.” It honestly felt like games of “Leap Frog” at times- like “I still have THIS,” “I might have to use THAT,” “They weren’t expecting XYZ to come out of ABC” ‘n everything. Back then, it worked for what you said that arc was: Positioning everyone for the Final Encounter.
But HERE- it’s feeling like Horikoshi is both padding thing out and trying to find a way to end this. And something like the International Heroes arrival- that feels like something to help the Heroes when All For One turns the tables on them with another “Twist.” And……………. I’m not sure WHAT that ‘twist” could possibly be at this point. What more can he do to turn the tides in his favor? He said that this body is currently “Damaged;” what could he bring out now- Tomura’s Singularity abilities? Would that put him over them?
Basically: They’ll come, but I don’t know how it’ll be handled- whether it’ll be this “HUGE CLIMAX INCOMING” type of moment, or if he’s not gonna “dwell” on it as much as we think he would.

The constant back and forth in shonen fights can be really annoying when overused. It’s a tough line to walk and some creators are simply better at it than others.
I’m still holding out but I don’t think Horikoshi is gonna take the spotlight from fan favorite characters. That said, the international heroes don’t have to steal the spotlight, just provide support.
As for AFO. It’s never simple with that guy. Who knows how long this battle’s gonna last. Are there any other heroes who could make an appearance? The Big 3? Bakugo for the final attack only? Where the heck is Wash? Yeah, this could take awhile.

You saying that- that they’re likely not gonna “overshadow” the main cast- made me think: I actually wouldn’t MIND a chapter after this where Izuku and Koichi just………. have a talk. Nothing like “I got a proposition for you over in the states,” but just……….. talking about this final battle compared to the Final Fight with No 6 in Vigilantes. Talking about All Might ’cause they’re All Might Fanboys. Just…….. something about seeing a previous Main character and the current talking about their series has always appealed to me.
Speaking OF No 6: You think All For One is gonna “ditch” the physical, damaged body and go “Full Energy” like 6? I don’t doubt that he could do it, which would be where the International Heroes come in. And then we just ride on that up to the end.

I don’t Koichi having a major role if he shows up. More like a background character. It’d just seem weird for him to show up in the 11th hour and get a bunch of screentime.
AFO? Well, he turned into a big monster before. I can see him doing something like that but worse.
