Kōhei Horikoshi, famed creator of one of the greatest manga/anime of all time, My Hero Academia, has recently come under fire over comments made about about Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker.
According to an interview published in The Officially Unofficial Star Wars Fans monthly magazine, Horikoshi-sama was quoted saying the last movie in the Star Wars sequel trilogy is “enjoyable in only a couple parts” then goes further to say “It was a Star Wars movie with lots of action and surprises. I may watch it again one day, if I’m bored.”
Star Wars fans are furious over the legendary manga-ka’s glowing approval over the much hated movie with angry fans posting comments on social media platforms such as:
“I’m still crying. What a baka!”
“I can’t believe he said that. I’m never reading MHA’s official release again!”
“There’s an official release?”
“If he loves the movie so much, why doesn’t he marry it!”
Well-known Star Wars YouTuber, StarwarsSithlawyer, has posted a two-hour response video accusing the great Horikoshi of “being bribed by Disney” citing that the amazing manga-ka was “never a real Star Wars fan because he referenced Star Wars in My Hero Academia less than 100 times”.
Another widely popular Star Wars content creator, Vader1mpregnant2—known for always wearing scuba gear so as to never have to breathe the same air as Kathleen Kennedy—has reported banning Kōhei Horikoshi off his Discord server. But sources confirmed it wasn’t the manga author he banned, but, in fact, a My Hero Academia fan calling themselves Kohey Hornykoshi.
