I was afraid we wouldn’t see Kuma’s punch follow through. Thankfully, we got it all in its face breaking glory!
St. Saturn definitely got it. Too bad the old bastard has regeneration abilities. I wonder if it’s just him or do all five Elders have that ability. We still don’t know what devil fruit Saturn ate. I wonder when Oda’s gonna reveal it? And, yes, I’m still predicting it’s a demon-demon fruit model (In case you asked).
Just who or what is taking down Saturn? You know how this works: Luffy battles the biggest threat. Zoro fights the second strongest, and Sanji, the third most powerful. Depending on his devil fruit, Saturn may be the “strongest” antagonist there, meaning Luffy gets final crack at him. If not, then Luffy returns to battle Kizaru, possibly wearing the light gloves for an advantage. Hmm… It’s still too early to know who’s the true Egghead final boss. Early? Just how much longer is this arc lasting?!
What’s up with Kuma? How is he able to function after Saturn flip his “self-destruct” switch? My answer: It’s the same reason as to how Blackbeard can hold more than one devil fruit in his body. Yeah, I’m saying Blackbeard is a Buccaneer like Kuma. If true then what do they have in common that makes them so special? Their souls? Willpower? This is a tough one. Gonna have ponder this theory more. That or e-mail Oda and ask him.
I doubt Luffy left the fight on his own. Caribou? Did he sneak Luffy away long enough for him to regain his strength? Its gotta be. I don’t see any of Blackbeard’s crew bothering to do it.
This was a great chapter! The Kuma punch, Bonney and Kuma’s reunion, as well as Kizaru’s return to the battlefield gave us a chapter full of emotion and anticipation. Egghead’s getting Buster Call’d. Would be nice if a giant robot activated and held off the battleships long enough for the Straw Hats to escape. Franky? If you’re not dead after eating Kizaru’s light kick to the head, you should jump on that. Oh! And, you should also see a doctor for your injury. Let’s hope Dr. Vegapunk’s a member of your insurance in-network.

!! I FORGOT about the possibility of Blackbeard being a Buccaneer! It would make sense; Marco said it was something about his “body” that let him hold 2 fruits- maybe it’s the same kind of “special body” that Kuma’s is. Plus he’s getting BIGGER with every appearance. Maybe he’s the equivalent of a “Still Growing” Buccaneer. That be a crazy connection between these 2 characters!!
It IS crazy how long this arc is getting, while still managing to keep its quality up. I wasn’t expecting something this long post Wano, but if THIS is the level of quality Oda is bringing for the Final Saga- I’ll take 4 more like it! I say “4” because I don’t think there are that many arcs left; Elbaf, Lodestar(final island before Laugh Tale), Throne War, and Laugh Tale itself. If all 4 of them are of this level- this series may just be able to leave on a high note(knock on wood knock on wood knock on wood)!

If the Blackbeard=Buccaneer theory is true, then BB’s size adjustment could just be that. An adjustment. Size is wacky in One Piece so who knows?
I’m been trying to figure out how much longer this arc will be. We’re past the flashback. Luffy’s taken at least one lost so I’m assuming we’re a good ways in. BUT, the Monster Trio fights aren’t locked in yet. I thought Saturn would be the arc boss for awhile but the BB Pirates are coming and we still don’t know what kind of devil fruit Saturn has.
Oda hasn’t hyped up Zoro VS Lucci so I doubt this is Zoro’s “big” fight. It really comes down to what the BB Pirates do. …And York. I’m not counting her out yet. There’s lots of future potential for an evil Vegapunk.
