After thousands of death flags, we’re finally at the end of All Might’s road.
It’s not confirmed yet, but this whole chapter signaled All Might dying to protect Deku. It’s similar to how Nana Shimura sacrificed herself for Toshinori Yagi all those years ago. I’m 99.99% sure All Might is dead. If he survives, my next My Hero Academia review will contain a lot more yelling and ranting than you could ever imagine.
Yes, All Might’s dead, but he should be joining the Force—erm—One Fore All vestiges soon enough. The ole’ dead mentor encourages the hero trope is coming. Or, is he? Without a quirk of his own, is All Might’s connection to OFA severed forever? I doubt it. If only for narrative purposes. We’ll see “All Might” talking to Deku again.
All Might blew himself up along with All For One. I knew it. There’s no way All Might didn’t go into this battle thinking he’d survived. That’s why the last Class-A quirk he used was Bakugo’s Explosion in the form of a gauntlet on his left arm. Speaking of Bakugo, he’s gotta be coming back to the battle right? He’s way too important to the story to go out like he did at U.A.
And what about Gentle? If he’s got any of La Brava’s power-up left in him, he should help out Deku for a bit. Hopefully, after Shigaraki kills AFO. That’s right. With All Might gone AFO’s next to go. This story has being pointing at Shigaraki and Deku being the greatest villain and hero respectively. For that to happen for Shiggy, he’s got to take down AFO. Or, at least cause him enough damage for Rewind to finish the job.
This was a good chapter! Sad to see All Might go but he went out in a literal blaze of glory. Next chapter, we’ll most likely see reactions of All Might’s death from all over the world. This is it, folks! This is the perfect opportunity to show Koichi in a panel reacting to All Might’s death. I’m sure Horikoshi’s been saving him for this moment. Heh heh… I think I might go a little crazy myself if we don’t see him. Not to worry, everything will be alright. Heh heh heh hee hee hee… It’s ALL gonna BE alright!
