Gum-Gum Gonna miss ya, Cobra Commander. Or should I say Cobra D. Commander? The Nefeltari Royal Family carry the D. name. Princess D. Vivi being so important to the series is making more and more sense. I’m guessing she’s the one who will unite the Pro-Luffy kingdoms in revolt against the World Government. Oda’s definitely gonna do some sort of badass parallel between Vivi and her descendant, Queen Lily.
Queen Lily, what a homie! She’s responsible for the spread of Ponegiffs around the world. Her actions sparked of revolution 800 years in the making. Yeah, she outplayed King Imu. Not by winning, Imu won that war. But by sowing the seeds of the World Government’s downfall for future generations to, um, harvest? Cultivate? Grow? I’m not a farmer, Y’all. You get what I’m saying, I think.
What do we have here? King Imu and the Five Elder Stars all have devil fruit powers! Interesting. I always rolled my eyes at people thinking the Elder Stars would fight but I guess I’m wrong. If even Sabo has trouble taking you down, you’re a big dead. Looks like most of them have a type of zoan fruit. Oda kept it super vague except maybe one of them being a gryphon. Imu’s devil fruit has me the most intrigued. What power could the secret ruler of the world have? He ate Sabo’s attack so…dragon? One Piece superfan Greg theorized him maybe having a western style dragon related fruit. Me? Perhaps some sort of scary Human-Human fruit model? Imu being a model: Florida Man would be a powerful end boss indeed.
Fujitora, you ole softy! Helping free the Celestial Dragon’s slaves. That’s gonna have some nasty repercussions. Will Fujitora quit the Navy, having to escape the CD’s wrath? Will the World Govenment cover it up so he can keep his job? Oda set Fujitora on a certain path since his introduction. Where it leads, I don’t know. But I expect big things from him in the future. I’m keeping an eye on that blind swordsman.
This was a great chapter! World building, plot advancement, and just payoff after payoff for long time readers invested in this story. Simply brilliant! And I can’t forget Imu confirming the 20 kings battled the D. people. Hmm… I wonder who else is secretly a D.? Miley D. Cyrus? A D. ele? Megan D. Stallion? Lil Nas D.? The possibilities are End D. Less.
