Not My Celestial Dragons [One Piece 1083]

Demolish the Celestial Monarchy! We want a democracy!

Things are heating up between the World Government and Revolutionary Army. The R.A. destroying the Celestial Dragons’ food supply while declaring war is a smart move. Just giving those elitist, tax exempt bastards a taste of wanting for bare necessities is something short of impossible without some of the strongest Revolutionaries working together. And good on them for freeing as many slaves as they can too! Where’s their Nobel Prize, huh?

We get confirmation Jabra and the rest of Lucci’s CP9 crew we haven’t seen lately are also members of CP0. Not sure why they’re there. They’re just standing around giving commentary. That’s what happens sometimes. Someone gets promoted and they do as little work as possible. Cipher Pol bastards!

I didn’t know Lindsay Lohan was a Celestial Dragon
Dragon hasn’t told Ivankov that God’s Knights is a food delivery service

Another mention of the Holy Knights. Oda’s really building them up. Makes me wonder if they’re comprised of former powerful Navy officers and World Government agents. Only the best of the best in their organization. Especially, now that they’re debuting this late in the game. But, I wonder how Oda will use them. Are they just gonna be mostly nameless strong guys attacking the Revolutionary Army? Are they secretly King Im’s personal army? Will they be the ones standing between whoever wants to confront Im in the future? Heck, are a couple Knights traveling with Saint Saturn to Egghead? That’s the perfect way to officially reveal them! If so, you are one sly bastard, Oda.

Doesn’t take a genius to guess the Five Elders wants King Cobra to hand over Princess Vivi. Maybe one of the Holy Knights will kill Cobra after he refuses. I don’t see the Five Elders getting their hands dirty, especially since they’ll make it look like a member of the R.A. did it. You old medicine cabinet smellin’ bastards!

Morley knows Ryokugyu’s bark is worse than his bite. …Eh? Ehh?…

This was a good chapter! Another world shaking event shown to the audience (Even if it did take place during the past Reverie). Sabo and Bonney are gonna shine next chapter, helping to save Vivi and Kuma. I can’t wait. Oh! One more thing: Why aren’t Dragon and the other R.A. members wetting themselves over the World Government having a weapon that erases entire islands?! You’d think learning more about that would be the top priority. Those short-sighted bastards!

The God’s Knights make themselves known at an interesting point in the story. The main one…….. is certainly a member of the Figarland family that was revealed in Film Red. My thinking: These are kids raised from a Young age to be the Strongest Of The Absolute STRONG- Warriors raised from birth to be the Very Best to be deployed in situations like this: When a Revolution actually manages to DO something.
This faction probably doesn’t see that much action- probably very few generations ever REALLY get to do much of anything- if they were ever DEPLOYED. There have certainly been other Revolutions in the past 800 years- all of which SQUASHED by the God’s Knights if they ever made it to this point(or some time before since none of them seemed to have ever gotten that far).
Something I found interesting about this chapter: The Celestial Dragons. In a way- The Way They Are Is No Fault of Theirs. Like, I was reading their reaction to the Revolutionary Army’s attack, and it hit me “Oh my God; they’re………. They’re just LIKE this. There’s no redemtion arc to be had with them- this behavior is so ingrained into them that there’s not really anyway to fix it.”

Oda’s take on royalty is kinda weird. The RA wants mostly to do away with the CDs but they have no problem with nations ruled by a kind King or Queen. It’s still having all political power in the hands of a monarchy. There’s no democracy but it’s okay because the royal family is “nice”. It’s not about the system itself being bad, just the people who run it. So, yeah, if the WG is truly going down, the CDs must go. Everything else is fine…I guess.

Back to God’s Knights: I’m really interested what they’re all about. And you know Oda. He won’t just dump them on us. He’ll introduce them in some way then move forward. So, well, probably see a God Knight reveal either in Sabo’s flashback or one protecting Saint Saturn.
