Blackbeard? Well, isn’t this a surprise?
Was not expecting to not only see the Heart Pirates and Blackbeard Pirates, but we’ve got confirmation of several of Team Blackbeard’s devil fruits! Doc Q’s Sick-Sick fruit makes sense. Jesus Burgress’ Strong-Strong fruit is the perfect power for a muscle head like him. Stronger’s Pegasus Horse-Horse fruit works too. And woo-baby! We see Van Augur rockin’ the Warp-Warp fruit! That’s the perfect devil fruit for a sniper! I’m so excited for the destined Van Augur/God Usopp sniper fight. More than any other Blackbeard VS Straw Hat battle. Yeah, you heard me. I want to see Usopp master observation haki and whoop Augur’s ass. Just thinking about how insane their fight will be has me shaking with anticipation!
And where will Van Augur and Usopp fight? Laugh Tale, of course! The two strongest pirate crews in the world will duke it out for the One Piece. There’s nowhere else it can happen. And if that’s true, Blackbeard’s getting Law’s Road Ponegliffs copies. The BB Pirates seem to be the ones attacking Whole Cake Island in the cover story. Big Mom’s Road Poneglifff. That’s one. Law has copies of Wano and Zou’s Road Ponegliff. If BB gets them, he’s at 3 out of 4. Just like the Straw Hats! Sorry Law, but odds are you’re about to be BB’s stepping stone on his road to Laugh Tale. Try not to die, okay?
Oda’s still sexist. Sorry, Oda simps, but I’m gonna call it like I see it. A Feminization Disease? Really, Oda? Being a woman is bad? It makes you weak? Yeah, I get it. It’s just a joke. But it’s a weird joke, Y’all. That entire scene left a foul taste in my mouth. Look, I’m not boycotting One Piece or anything, but I need to point stuff like this out. It was just a terrible decision, Oda. Watch some She-Hulk or something. A little Buffy the Vampire Slayer wouldn’t hurt either.
This was a good chapter! Other than Oda’s sexism making its triumphant return, I enjoyed it. Here’s a thought: I bet Blackbeard is gonna try to steal Luffy’s devil fruit. It’s a powerful Zoan fruit, after all. He needs the strongest Zoan along with his powerful Logia and Paramecia fruit powers. One more reason I’m buying my ticket to Laugh Tale early. If only the pirates of One Piece knew United Airlines flies there at least twice a day. Oh well, more airline peanuts for me.
