What an epic(?) fight!
I guess it is. Horikoshi’s battle scenes can get muddy. This is one of them. So, basically, Deku’s using the Second User’s quirk: Gearshift to change his inertia instantly. It’s a speed boost quirk with benefits. Not flashy looking here, but it gets the job done. I bet this entire battle will look amazing in the anime.
We get some All For One backstory. I wonder why he’s crying? I guess if the Second is about to die, Yoichi (the First) is already dead. Is AFO mourning his brother’s death? Interesting. And if so, how did he die? Was it AFO himself that did the deed or did the First’s weak body finally breakdown? Would be nice to know, Horikoshi! Hmm… Maybe since My Villain Academia was ill received in Japan (I don’t understand it either.), Hori’s hesitant about giving Mr. Big Bad the spotlight for a few chapters. Geez, Japan! Stop simping over Bakugo for one dang minute and let Hori give us the deets.
I loving Deku’s combo attacks. Glad he’s using his brain. Still, he’s not going 100% without Fa Jin, right? And All For Shiggy still doesn’t have access to his quirks. Hmm… I don’t see this series ending without both fighters giving it their everything, so we’re still stuck at round one.

This was an okay chapter! Didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it. What’s Spinner gonna do? Just what quirk did AFO give him? Maybe it was a copy of the All For One quirk. That’d be nuts! And then Spinner can free Kurogiri. Nuttier! And Kurogiri will teleport Shiggy’s body away. Super nut! *achoo!* Oh no… Rashes. I forgot about my nut allergy!

I enjoyed the fight- and I really like the subversion with the Second’s quirk! I was of the majority that thought it was a laser of some kind, but what we got was way cooler! I said in my review that Izuku’s finally fighting like an “Endgame Protagonist-” this quirk is now strong enough to “Warp Reality.”
When all of this started- even a little before then- I had never felt like Izuku was………. “strong enough.” You know? Like; he never had anything that made me think he’s where every protagonist before him is at by the end of their stories. HE WAS NEVER GONNA GET TO WHERE THEY DID when you look at the stories I’m talking about, but still- he didn’t feel like “One Of The Strongest Characters In The Story.” He just felt……. “Strong.”
I also had this little theory about quirks in the review I did cause my brother was talking about how strong the quirks of the first era were in comparison to something like Mineta or Uraraka. I mean, even before the One For All amp; “Gear Shift” could ignore Inertia. No quirk nowadays is able to do something that crazy! So I have this idea that “Quirk Energy” is being “condensed” to cause Singularities. You can check out my review for more(https://fictionoverlord.webresolvers.com/2022/10/14/shifting-gears-my-hero-academia-chapter-369-breakdown/).
What was with those 9 lights in the chapter? And what do they have to do with Spinner? Also; I liked how All For One is actually starting to “break.” He’s been so confident thus far, but now that he’s getting his sh!t pushed in; he’s starting to blame X Y and Z for what’s going on.

The fight is more interesting than Team Bakugo VS AFShiggy but I’m still not sure if Deku earned the right to control his power as well as he did. He was slowly creeping up, learning OFA and his new quirks bit by bit then BAM, he’s good enough to take on the Big Bad. Just feels like a part of Deku’s development is missing.
Nice to see AFO breaking under the pressure but once he’s got access to his quirks his ego will shoot right back up into the stratophere.

Yeah, probably. And we most DEFINITELY skipped over all that development. But I feel like I’ve complained about that enough.
