Six Vegapunks?! Well, seven if you count its original body. And it’s probably an older body at that. I don’t see OG Vegapunk being less than 50 years old. That’s probably another reason he split himself up besides the lack of proper help.
I wonder what Punk-01, Shaka The Good wants with the Straw Hats? Could it have something to do with Luffy’s Gear 5? Oda has stated Vegapunk’s an expert on devil fruits. They could know the whole truth about Luffy’s uber duper devil fruit. And maybe “hire” the new Emperor and his crew to help the genius scientist in exchange for all his devil fruit knowledge. Or at least, offer info on the location of the final Ponegliff? I can’t wait to see where this goes!
Light Pressure Gloves. My foreshadow senses are tingling! Maybe Franky will use that tech to upgrade the Thousand Sunny to withstand laser fire. Or allow a Straw Hat crewmember to fight Admiral Kizaru. The possibilities are almost endless.
Bonney and Luffy are rocking some serious sibling energy. I love those two as friends. Interesting how Bonney knows the OG Vegapunk. That’s gonna be quite the backstory. I can see Vegapunk surviving the arc in order to restore Kuma’s humanity. Kuma’s Bonney’s dad, Y’all! I never could’ve predicted that! That’s one more connection the Straw Hats have with the Revolutionaries. It’s all coming together.
CP0’s coming to kill the Vegapunks. Why? Well, I think Lucci’s on to something thinking Lulusia’s destruction has something to do with it. No, I don’t think Dr. Vegapunk created the weapon that destroyed Lulusia (It was probably the ancient weapon Uranus.), but I do think Dr. Vegapunk is one of the few people on the planet smart enough to figure out how to destroy it. And that a big no-no for the World Government. Uranus is the WG’s Death Star. Anyone not officially apart of their organization with information on the massive weapon’s possible weakness has to die. It’s all of nothing time, kids. Useful as Vegapunk is, even they aren’t as important as the possible destruction of the World Government. If it’s them or the Vegapunks, World King Im and the Elder Stars are throwing the Vegapunks under the assassination bus.
Is CP0 the main villains this arc? Hahaha! No way! Lucci’s a threat but he ain’t final boss worthy anymore. Maybe one of the Vegapunks will be the big antagonist. Or something they created. Or an Admiral. Whoever it is, it won’t be Lucci.
This was a great chapter! I’m all in on this arc. From the concept, to the characters, to everything else in-between. And how nice to see the Straw Hats recognized as a famous and powerful group. I never get tired of that. They should start doing conventions. Sell some t-shirts in-universe. Come on, Nami. Jump on that and make the crew some big bucks.
