Rockin’ Robin [One Piece 1005]

Let’s talk about Nico Robin. She’s my favorite Straw Hat crew member, you know. She’s smart, kind, capable, and a total badass. I love her.

So, Imagine my excitement seeing her get so much focus this chapter. Not only that, she’s getting a fight! I love seeing Robin fight. I find her devil fruit, the Hana Hana no Mi, to be one of the most versatile powers in the series. Defense, offense, surveillance, rescue, comedy, the fruit does it all. Am I gushing? Sorry. What was my point? Oh, who cares! I love Nico Robin!

Ah! I remember now. Robin’s getting a fight. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wish it was a one-on-one against Black Maria, but Oda’s being Oda so what can you do? Speaking of which, Oda must’ve been really horny coming up with this chapter. Boobs galore. We get it, Oda. You. Love. Titties.

What was I talking about again? I keeping getting sidetracked. Yes, the Robin fight. Of course! So, yeah, Robin teaming up with someone against Black Maria is a bit disappointing but I’m glad it’s with Brook. I love Brook too! He’s so damn funny. And, if this chapter is a preview to what we can expect, this upcoming battle will be both exciting and hilarious. Robin and Brook, what a great team. I seriously haven’t been looking forward to a fight as much as this in a long time. And, yes, that includes Luffy VS Kaido.

Much as I want to keep talking about Robin, other stuff happened too. Sanji VS Jack seems to be happeining. Okay… We finally got an explanation for the people and animals with eye drawings on them, The Marys. I bet one of them is Mary J. Blige. That would explain The Marys playing Be Without You at the top of every hour. The Animal Kingdom Pirates’ captain is a bastard, but no one can say anything bad about Kaido’s taste in music.

Is that it? I feel like more happened. Let’s me check my notes… Hm… All I wrote was Marry me, Robin for 3 pages. Okay, then.

I LOVE this chapter! It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a chapter like this. It’s got great comedy mixed in with action. A Robin/Brook fight is just what this arc needed and I can’t wait to see the genius and straight laced Robin whoopin’ ass with the funny and dependable Brook. And, them smackin’ down a spider villain is icing on the cake. I hate spiders. Scary, nasty creatures. Can’t even play Resident Evil games because of them. I played the REmake years ago and that scene with the giant spider showing up gave me nightmare for weeks and…

Sorry. I just keep going off-topic today. What was I talking about? Robin! Yes, yes. So, anyway, about my petition for Robin to have her own spin-off…
