Pop in those earbuds and hit play, because it’s time for another 100% stressful chapter of My Hero Academia.

Picking up where we last left off after Shigaraki remembered everything and made the mental limits on his power as thing of the past, he continues his face-off against Re-Destro. Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the full-powered Tomura Shigaraki!
But, Re-Destro’s having none of it and attacks. Now, keep in mind this is a Shigaraki bordering on the edge of collapse. He’s be fighting almost non-stop against Gigantomachia for weeks and has spent today fighting Meta Liberation Army goons and their powerful boss. Everything we’re seeing now is only a taste of what’s to come from Shigaraki in the future after a good night’s rest and a new pair of socks.
Anyway, Re-Destro tries hitting Shigaraki with a 100% Stress Bomb. It destroys everything around the two, missing Shigaraki because he destroyed it before it could affect him. Yikes! That basically confirms dear ole Shiggy can destroy energy attacks, meaning Deku’s Black Whip will be useless if he tries attacking the LoV leader directly with it. So, um, where are the Deku’s Overpowered complainers now?

We get a quick flashback of Re-Destro remembering first receiving the responsibility of full filling OG Destro’s will, indeed confirming it’s been a long time since the Meta Liberation Army was a threat to anyone. At this point, I can safely say Re-Destro isn’t Destro’s son or grandson, but rather his great-grandson or beyond. But, nevermind that, Re-Destro breaks out the Claustro Armor (I assume it emerged from the remnants of the tower Shiggy destroyed chapters ago), giving him a whopping 150% attack power. Plus the armor vents out citrus smelling cologne so its a win-win for everyone. Take that, Tony Stark!
While all this is going on, we see the Geten and Hanabata breaking off their own battles to help Re-Destro. Not sure what Hanabata can do without getting close enough for Re-Destro to hear him, but Geten gets wrecked by Gigantomachia in record time. Yeah, they still think the big guy’s the biggest threat, but we all know better, right?
After Doctor Uijiko refusing to warp them back until he’s satisfied the arc’s over, we learn Re-Destro’s seeing Shigaraki in a new light. The MLA leader is all about quirk freedom and that’s what Shigaraki is doing, using his very…VERY powerful quirk to its fullest. I doubt Re-Destro’s experienced this type of insane power first hand. Not surprising. His quirk is powerful too, but to see another with a possibibly stronger quirk using it for all its worth, well, this is the type of thing right up Re-Destro’s alley.

And, then he dies?
Shigaraki extends his power along the ground at the end of the chapter, so it’s a toss-up whether or not Re-Destro can survive it. Will Re-Destro bow down to Shigaraki or will it matter because Shigaraki wants him dead and that pretty much sealed his fate. Now, I said time and again Re-Destro can’t die since he has to bring about the battle data subplot that’s been in the background since this arc started, but maybe Re-Destro isn’t needed for that. Suppose Re-Destro dies and the rest of the MLA decides to follow Shiagaraki? Is that Horikoshi’s endgame for this arc? Giving Shigaraki another rival villain’s resource? First Stain’s followers, then Overhaul’s bullets, and now Re-Destro’s Detnerat Company? They’re so many ways this can go down, from the other MLA members following Shiggy to them all dying and Shigaraki having ALL of the inner circle replaced by Toga clones. Maybe even some could join while others break off to form a new MLA. I don’t know, but I’m willing to bet whatever happens leads to Shigaraki taking over Detnerat and acquiring that sweet sweet battle data.
Great chapter! The boss battle is in full effect and Gigantomachia is witnesses the true Shigaraki. Looks like Giggy will be begging for selfies and rummaging through Shiggy’s trash just like he did with AFO. At least, that’s what Reddit told me.
